Simple Deluxe 12 Inch High Velocity Floor Fan Model HIFANXFLOOR12 | Initial Opinions
Ғылым және технология
The Simple Deluxe branded 12" high velocity floor fan model HIFANXFLOOR12. This was recommended to me by a friend who spoke very highly of it.
At the time of this taping, the unit retails for just under $40. At that price point, I think this is a pretty solid product. The power draw is very reasonable at less than 0.4 amps. The noise level is not excessive. The air flow is strong, but spreads wide as you back away from the fan as opposed to being a concentrated stream felt at far distances. The control is mounted on the top of the fan and is easy to reach. Cord wrap for storage on rear guard. The guards are held together with metal clips that flip open instead of a plethora of screws. The blade is in excellent balance and clock.
The major selling point of this one is going to be the ball bearings. The overwhelming majority of failed fans I encounter suffer from sleeve bearings that have locked up due to lack of lubrication. This having ball bearings does not require regular oiling, and if the bearings were to wear out, they are relatively easily replaced. A decent quality ball bearing should provide a longer lifespan than a sleeve bearing.
These are being described as "Heavy Duty Metal Industrial Floor Fans", which is a stretch. The guard is made of rather thin gauge wire which won't hold up to much abuse. The power cord is short. It moves decent air, but it's not insane. The motor is likely only Class A insulation, I'd expect it would be advertised and noted somewhere if it were Class B. I would keep this well into the residential product category.
There is a lack in variance to the speeds, the lowest speed could have been half of what it is, and medium and high don't have much difference at all. There's no fuse in the plug, which has been a standard safety measure for over a decade now. The plastic film on the stand has the feet screwed into it, which requires the 3 feet being unscrewed to fully remove it. The bearings do make a fair bit of noise which is audible on startup and shutdown. After running the unit overnight, the noise has not changed.
According to the product description, the unit can allegedly run for at least 5 years. Operating continuously, that's around 43,000 hours. Only time will tell, but as long as the bearings are of halfway decent quality, I suspect this will last a long time.

Thanks for letting me know.
This is a pretty decent fan. The airflow is really good, it doesn’t make a lot of noise and it doesn’t consume a lot of energy. I’m sure this fan will definitely last a very long time if taken care of.

I agree.
I have that same fan. I set up my master bedroom as a den, but have my bed as a loft bed with a couch under it. I set up the fan to blow air up when I sleep so I sleep cooler with the fan pulling cooler air off the floor.

@@JordanU I want to say for about a year. Did the bearings break in on your fan after running it? The coast down on mine is very long after I shut it off.
Have two of these I bought back in November of 2023 off of Amazon for $35 bucks, it was a two pack. The seller had them on clearance. I should have gotten more of them before the price went back up.

At half price, these are quite exceptional.
$40 is a decent price. I have seen a lot of Lasko box fans on the facebook marketplace, and also saw one from an estate sale listing with the stand.

I agree.
Both of mine had the same barring noise however after a couple of days the sound went away and mine are both silent barring wise. Overall I’m satisfied with them. I let my mom use one in her bedroom the other one I use on my front porch or to dry my floors after mopping.

That's outrageous.
Now normally I don't like Dollar store fans but cool master has came out with a couple of really good 9 inch fans the first one came out last year called the coolmaster 9-inch high velocity fan and the other good one that just came out this year is the cool master 9 inch turbo fan both of them have really good blade sets and pretty powerful motors for Dollar store fans for Dollar store fans the aerodynamics of both of them are phenomenal. I'd like to see what you think about both of them now the 9 inch high velocity fan has just a standard high velocity fan design but the 9 inch turbo fan looks like a cheap vornado knock off.
Is she brushless with a sealed motor, daul armature driver?
