Hey friends, this is my Super Simple Bird House! This idea came from my very long time great friend Cy. It’s totally a kid friendly build for your younger children who are just learning about tools and woodworking. It’s only going to cost about $7 bucks for a single 1x6x6 board and some nails to secure everything together! Don’t forget the acrylic paint so they can fully customize it and make it their own. You just need 8 simple pieces to make this new bird house a reality. They are
1@7”(part of the roof)
1@6 3/4”(other part of the roof)
4@6” (floor, back/front walls, and top)
2@7”w/45° miter cut (side walls)
Pre-drill your holes and secure it together while doing so (if needed) with screws. Drill your hole for the door, mine was 1 3/4” with a hole saw bit, and drill you a 1/4” hole for a dowel that will be the landing place for the birds. Take all your screws out and give your little helper some nails and a hammer. Be sure to keep an eye on them to make sure they are working safely. Sand, stain, paint, seal, and finish as you see fit for a great backyard viewing experience! Thanks for stopping by.
