Dante Balestra is the new professor of Philosophy at the Leonardo Da Vinci High School in Rome. He's returned after eight years of absence to be with his son Simone now that his ex-wife is about to move to Glasgow.
Simone struggles with his sexual identity and leaves his girlfriend without giving an explanation. The truth is he's in love with the "lost cause" of his class, Manuel.
