@@CrispyDang in women’s gymnastics the there are 5 or 6 events you can medal: Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, Floor, Vault, All-Around (all 4 events combined), and Team (except the year after Olympics…like her first Worlds). She only did not medal on Uneven Bars 5 out of the 6 years she competed.

@@pondlakes All the gymnasts use the same floor. The springs don't give her any advantage over others. The amount of height is also due to technique, skill and strength.

We were expecting 4 gold and 1 other medal, but not gold on beam but on vault. We were surprised she competed on the uneven bars, her weakest routine, but may also have been a test after such a long delay. We were definitely surprised with gold on beam and that she sill made the gold on floor despite stepping out. But, this was a good prep for Paris. Let's only hope she can keep it up mentally and physically. One thing is for sure; there is only one Simone Biles.

For those with experience on the matter, are women's tumbling passes so much cleaner and straighter than men's because women train on balance beam? Men's tumbling passes often seem somewhat lopsided while women's seem more surgical and straight. Or is it just me?

Is this still the same competition that I seen earlier this week where Simone and the team have blue on instead of purple? It's so confusing because no matter what Simone wins. I keep track by the colors the team wears. ❤💙❤💙❤💙

Yes they have qualifications then team finals, then individual all around, then they compete individually on each event floor, vault, beam and bars so the total competition time in that location is several days

When they're competing as a team they all wear the same gear, they can change into what they want in the all around and individual element competitions

I’m curious as to why her execution score isn’t higher? I mean a 8+ execution for tumbling 6-7 tenths higher than everyone else proves that she is able to control and perform the most difficult skills to a high standard. I can’t even get out of bed on time!

Higher difficulty doesn't mean better execution. She was overscored here really. That switch leap 1/1 was ugly, the artistry isn't great, and there were major landing errors.

​​@@Zuranthium The "major landing errors" being one 0.3 leap out of the Biles lmao The 0.1 OOB isn't even counted towards the E-score as it's a neutral deduction. Everyone got strict artistry deductions, which is apparent because her TF floor (the best routine she's ever done all year) got scored lower than her Nationals Day 2 score (her next best routine). This was justly scored, and she deserved the gold even with the OOB. Go cry about it.

Lol ‘major landing errors’ for putting each pass to her feat and a slight hop back in 3 of her 4 passes. I think the judges are just too critical in general these championships. Artistry? What does that even mean in the judges eyes? If artistry is defined as dance and jumps, then rename the sport to ballet lol .

It is a combination or both execution and difficulty. If your difficulty is significantly higher than the competition's, you are rewarded enough that you can make a couple extra execution mistakes. As it should be

If Gadirova was able to compete she Would Have won Gold. Simone was lucky this time Edit.: Love that Simone fans are always using "Ifs" when she doesn't win but if someone does the same with another gymnast they get pissed off. Nobody can question Saint Simone Biles.

Nope, it is not Gadirova, as many people have claimed this American lady to be the best they've ever seen, so does her Olympic and World championship titles speaks enough volume for itself. Biles isnt there for being lucky, she won a couple of times. For an athlete to win the biggest and the most coveted title in sports is an amazing achievement, let alone winning multiple medals that are most primarily gold medals is second to none. she also won silver on vault with a fall. Just bc you step out of bounds or fall doesn’t mean you automatically get kicked off the podium. For example in DP gymnastics, you can fall and still get a 9.4, which is high enough score to probably place
