I placed an order with Simon Customs a couple weeks ago and I’ve been encouraged by what I saw on your video about the quality of my tank cover. I own a H-D Sportster XR1200 that comes with a fiberglass fuel tank and a tank cover. Mine is damaged from a drop (my bad) and I’m sure I can fix it and repaint it myself but with a lot of summer left, I wanted a faultless cover in the meantime. There are several used tank covers out there and some new tank covers remanufactured in Europe for about the same price. The new ones are unpainted. So for the about the same price (including shipping) Simon Customs actually advertised a new painted cover for the same cost to me. So I’m excited to see your end product and hope my cover, which is to be gloss black, comes out as nice as yours. Thanks for the video.

I’m so glad I came across your video. I’ve wanted one of these tank covers for a while but one thing has held me back, I have the HD flush mount gas cap. Considering the outer ring that adheres to the tank using that cap, I wasn’t sure that the cover would fit properly. After watching your video it seems that it’s not an issue, is that correct?

Not an issue at all. I have a badge on the side of my tank that sticks out almost an inch and even that wasn’t an issue

Hey quick question. On my iron 883 the tank cover doesn’t stay on my bike it keeps floating up and rattling a lot. If it wasn’t for my pop out gas cap the cover would fall off. Do you know if I’m doing anything wrong?

I’m not sure why it would rattle. Mine was snug and it was a very tight fit

What flush tank cap did you buy? And how did you install with tank cover? Did you install before or after the tank cover?

It’s a Harley flush cap and I had it installed before the cover. The cover just goes right on top of it

I dont think I have enough personal experience to say one way or another. I keep my bikes in a garage. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful there

When I got it it was about 4-6 weeks but I know they’ve been ramping up production. Could be a lot shorter now
