Exactly. The only people railing against Howe are: 1) Media types trying to create controversy for clicks and views. 2) Online trolls. Totally agree with Simon, although I don't always 🤣. Excellent summary of the club's position and also that of Eddie Howe's. Disappointing performance and result but let's face it there are too many Championship quality players in the squad. They have been magnificent in upping their individual games but lack of quality means that they are inherently inconsistent and Howe can only improve them so much. We thus need half a dozen new high quality players before we can seriously compete and PSR stops us doing that quickly.

@@mtr-1235 It's a bit silly to compare injuries, right now MUFC has 12 injured, NUFC 11, both teams hamstrung across the season because of it. More days lost for NUFC, I'm guessing it's hurt your midfield, whereas for us it's killed our back 4, we've played over 20 different combinations and have Casemiro in a CB slot for chrissakes. ETH also had to work under the dross that Ratcliffe is currently clearing out, under an antiquated organizational structure. I'd start the clock from new ownership and give ETH a third season, especially if he somehow manages to scrape up a second trophy next month (not holding my breath though). Falling out with primadonna children who have tanked previous managers progress is part of the clear out, and I could care less about press conferences, I'm convinced ETH uses them to spread disinformation and will never air dirty laundry in public. Every successful team gives their manager the time he needs to get a team assembled with a set philosophy. Howe has got a very good spine in the team with Pope, Trippier, Livramento, Schar, Botman, Burn as backup LCB, Hall, Guimaraes, Tonali, Gordon, Anderson, Barnes, Big Joe and Isak with a lot of talented youngsters that can be used if needed. If they can keep those players and use the likes of Murphy, Krafth, Almiron, Longstaff and Wilson to trade even if not for much money it can be used to bring in a few new players that can add more quality in positions like RW, LB, CB and GK.

I just hope he can be objective enough and turn those pages in his managerial career that can develop him to one of the very top managers and he does it with us. Need to remember that he has not have much or no experience with european football and what it does to the needs of managment of the squad in the training and during the matches (seeming lack of plan B and C). I hope he gets another transferwindow to overhaul the midfield and defence/GK pos to the needs of more ball controll approach... We need to evolve to dominate likes of Palace... Anybody thinking he should get sacked is absolutely clueless or a jealous Mackem.. Last season finishing 4th was massive but WELL ahead of even the Saudi’s expectations.. With the injuries and all of the things OUTSIDE of Eddie Howe’s control, finishing 7th as it stands right now would be nothing short of a miracle, arguably even more impressive than last season. Everything WITHIN Eddie’s control has been managed spectacularly.. this rhetoric that he’s underperformed or doesn’t have the backing of the board is absolute codswallop.

I've officially lost my mind, Simon Jordan talking absolute sense when it comes to Newcastle. Amanda Staveley and Eddie Howe feeding him humbe pie and he is taking that pie on a spoon with Eddie and Amanda doing the Choo Choo sound. Love it.

The media hasnt given this guy a chance at all. Newcastle fans are realistic and under Howe the club has done unbelievable and is only moving in one direction. I honestly would have liked to have seen any other manager do a better job this season with the serious injury crisis they've had. And there's still a chance to get europe and he got CL last season.

Newcastle moto: We don't demand a team that wins, we demand a club that tries. This is what the real fans stick to. Anyone who was alive during Bobby Robson's tenure will remember the curse that seemed to cling to our club after we fired him, which was a tragic mistake. I think any of the naysayer fans should remember that. In Eddie we trust because he tries and gives his all.

He needs at least another season. Spent the vast majority of this one putting out combinations of U21s & Bruce/Ashley signings due to horrific injury record. No complaints here - as long as there's significant investment in the summer, keeping hold of all blue chip players (there's really only 3 or 4) & shipping out the still considerable dead wood contingent.

Last season our press was amazing and we bullied teams off the pitch. Too often this season the roles have been reversed, particularly away from home. We couldn’t get out of our own half vs Palace, or complete a pass. I’m still very much backing Howe though. The injuries we’ve had this season have been absolutely unprecedented. The Tonali ban unforeseen. Joelinton, who basically does the job of 2 men, has been a colossal miss. Bearing all this in mind, to even be in the conversation for a European place at this point of the season is impressive.

All this shite about us finding our level this season is just that. If you look at last season we got 71 points; Villa and Spurs can score a total of 78 points each from their remaining fixtures, and given how tough the fixtures are, especially Spurs', I can't see either getting maximum points. If you then factor in our injuries this season, then it's clear that if we hadn't been so hampered by injury we could have gotten around our total from last season, which would have put us right in the mix for finishing in the top four again.

So Simon is basically saying that the guys who've won nothing deserve more time(Poch who worked under his pal Levy and now works for his new pal Boelhy, and Howe who is English), but the guy who has won something and reaches 3 finals in 2 years (is a Dutchman who apparently doesn't wear the right fitting suit according to Simon), should get the sack. Top class punditry ladies and gentlemen. And also, it sickens me how people talk about Newcastle having injuries yet not a peep about United who have a league-worst injury crisis.

Don't pay it - wait until contract is up. Not really rocket science.

Every time Newcastle get beat, the same discussion keeps getting recycled again and again by these so called 'experts'. Nobody at Newcastle, be it the owners, players and certainly not supporters, are questioning Eddie Howe or the job he is doing. We have had setbacks, but overall, we are extremely happy with the position we are in and for the most part, the football we are playing.

As a Newcastle fan I’m not sure we can expect too much his season, with Tonali and Barnes hardly playing, Tino and Hall bought for the future our squad hasn’t benefited this season. Before we can really compete near the top we still need another 3/4 first team players….. I hope Eddie will be the manager for a long time but he does concern me with in game management. But in all fairness, he just hasn’t had the squad to make changes this season

Currently.....Tripper, Botman, Lascelles, Joelinton, Tonali (gambling suspension), Targett, Pope, Almiron, Willock, Miley. Over the season many more, Barnes and Anderson have only been back for a few weeks. Basically many many many more injuries than is normal, but for me, questions rightfully should be asked, is that because of training methods etc??? If you could be bothered to check, you'd see that NUFC had almost a full team of injured players (9-11 players) throughout this season, whereas 2-4 is probably the normal amount.
