I used to assess Simon as arrogant and emotionless. As I have matured I see how efficient his mind wastes no time on no talent for singing . He seems very in the moment. Honesty is a compliment . Respecting you enough to tell you the truth

Well, you’re right for most of the time. But there have been times that the judges were unnecessarily cruel. Like that kid on BGT who was a terrible dancer… Simon said ‘the truth is that you are absolutely useless.’ That’s cruel. He should have said ‘the truth is that you can’t dance to save your life’ - THAT would be both brutally honest and on point. But there’s no need to tell children they are ‘absolutely useless’ just because they can’t sing or dance. Humans who can’t sing or dance are still worthwhile as humans!

Parents: there is nothing wrong with being realistic. I have told my children, "you can do anything. But, if you want to (fill in whatever idea they have about the future) you are going to have to work 100 times harder than you are right now. You are capable of anything. but your effort will determine if you will do it" (or something similar to that). Either way your kid will be mad at you (for not supporting their dreams or for not being honest with them). If you're going to be a jerk anyway, at least you can save them from embarrassment.

I love this compilation! It was well-edited and actually very entertaining, not just another group of auditions slapped together. It does say Simon's savage moments but he was really very pleasant, and not even a shadow of his former self where he would be brutal with his rejections. There was a lot of thought that went into which auditions to include.

Simon Cowell is an international treasure ; he mellowed out though after he became a dad for he was at his best when he had no filter!!

Oceane wasn’t bad, she just need to get the pitch under control. Like it shouldn’t be ⬆️⬇️⬇️⬆️⬆️⬅️⬆️↙️➡️➡️⬅️↙️⬆️⬇️↙️↙️↘️

Kate Lightwood it’s super awkward lol. She actually has quite sound vocal technique and can even hit the whistle register, but her pitch is all over the place. How is that even possible lol.

You could tell he had worked so hard to get and maintain his look and style, and probably convinced himself that he could sing. The problem is that most people can choose a style and pull it off if they work hard enough, but singing takes natural talent and if you don't have it, you will never be good at it. You could tell that he was absolutely crushed and his world came crashing down around him when they said no because he probably thought that is what he was going to do in life.
