Simgot EA500 Review - Raising The Bar Once Again
Simgot has risen to prominence lately based on the performance of a few of their offerings. The EA500 is a stellar example of why there is so much hype around the brand lately.
The hype here is different though as it did not precede the IEMs release but grew afterwards as more people got to listen to it.
Sporting a single 4th generation Dynamic Driver and two sets of tuning nozzles, which actually make a difference, the sub $80usd Simgot EA500 has upset the apple cart in the sub $100 iem market. This is based both on its very good sound quality paired with excellent build quality.
There is even a simple to perform mod that imho raises the already great sound quality to even a higher level.

First time watching one of your reviews, very nicely presented. I'm expecting delivery of ea500 today so I'll be able to judge for myself but this set seems to have impressed quite a few people out there.

Where do you put the micropore tape/Y3 filter on the IEM? Sorry, I haven't tried modifying any earphone or headphone before. Great review.

I would have to say it's superior to both of those earphones and I do own both of them,
By attention span is apparently not good atm…what filter did you use over the bass port..?

Y3.... Or you can try micropore tape. Usually that kind of tape can be found in a pharmacy for taping dressings over wounds as it has pores so the skin can still breathe.

The it01x is slightly darker but has better overall technicalities.

@@siliconsoundz Thanks, IT01x is on sale right now here but I wasn't sure how it holds up now as we have many budget and other IEMs under $100 now like Olina, Aria, Titan S, Tin Hifi T3+, Tangzu Waner, Cadenza, EA500 etc. Any suggestions would be helpful. I am looking for an IEM under $100 with good technicalities and clarity but not thin and overly bright sounding to the point of being harsh. My dongle is Ibasso DC04 Pro. Also is the bass quality and texture on it01x lower than EA500?

@@sorcerermax5111 I think the EA500 is the "safest" bet as it has a tuning that will satisfy many people.
