I had Sim animals on the Wii as an eight-year-old. I cannot tell you how terrifying it was to hear the noise that your animals were getting in a fight or being eaten or dying.

I remember getting so attached to a squirrel in SimAnimals for the Wii when I was 6 that I cried for about a day after I accidentally fed it to a bear. I then tried to start a new save with a new squirrel but the weight of my actions on my conscience was too much to bear and I never picked up the game again. R.I.P Colin, gone but never forgotten

Theses games were my childhood I would always use the cheats to get the pink elephant and rainbow zebra every save.I use to bring my favorite lion to the first area every time I got bored and just chased the zebras around I had a strange hatred for that zebra totem

Sim animals Africa is way Superior. It fixed the main problem I had with the first game and also you can make the parrot say curse words 100/10 game

i was absolutely OBSESSED with sim animals ds when i was 10. i played the area with foxes like a warriors cats clan😂😂

I still have my copy of Sim Animals. I remember being so perplexed by the game when actually playing it because I expected Sims but with animals 😐

When I was a kid I got the SimAnimals DS game, and I got so far into it. I became obsessed with this game! It made me feel very satisfied as a kid. Until I realized I had to begun farming squirrels to feed my wolves. Then it became more... of a cool science experiment.

Hearing the ds music makes me so nostalgic omg and watching it unlocked memories I forgotten. The moving in music made me giggle I remembered it. It is pretty catchy isn’t it? I dunno what it is about old games but as a kid I remembered it looking a lot better and forest-y and realistic oh dear I guess our imagination bridged the gap haha

I love SimAnimals, I spent ours on these games! Once on the SimAnimals for DS, I've got this pink bird, an "happiness bird" that spawned because all the animals in one biome were super happy and I just kept it in the backpack 'cause I didn't want it to got away anymore. I've never got something similar in other games, I can't find it on the Wiki (I'm italian and it's been years since I've been active in the community so I don't remember if it was still called "happiness robin" in english too and it seems like it doesn't find any info with other keywords) and I'm still wondering if I had just hallucinated😂

oh I remember those games! I used to love DS version so much, and wished I could get Wii one. Recently replayed them and realised they were so good only because of how great my childhood imagination was... I remember creating backstories for animals and overpopulating my maps with wolves lol

I remember how upset I was when my dad got this for me. I asked for it because I thought it would be The Sims but with animals. I don’t know wtf little me was wanting or expecting

Crazy that this shows up in my recommended because I was just thinking about this series of games recently

I dont know how they made a Sims 2 game as an animal zoo tycoon but it works it has so much potencial

this reminds me of a lot of old 90s maxis games, like simlife and simpark. i think they're not rly the sims spinoffs technically, but like, regular sims games in the vein of simcity which kind of stopped being a thing in the 2000s lol

32:42 NOOOO NOT BABY ZEBRA. There is actually way to stop animals from eating each other (which would have been useful before-). If you rapidly move your hand on the fight cloud it'll separate the animals and no one is hurt. I have no idea how I discovered this as a kid but I'm glad I did, way too many close calls...

I remember playing that on the Wi and there was a place on the map where there were bunnies but all of them kept getting eaten by the cats there, i think. And I was so worried they would all be devoured and i would be left with 0 of them, that I never went to that part of the map and just ignored it lol

I remember my mom buying me this game cause it was on sale at a supermarket. I got whatever game seemed fun and ended up being my favorite. I missed this game so much especially the music of the ds version which really stuck w me 😭

I completely forgot about sims animals this videos gave me concussion level nostalgia

I only had SimAnimals Africa, I loved it. I thought that one berry that changes an animal's colour to be unnaturally coloured was so cool, like a shiny Pokemon, I wanted to make it my goal to change all my animals' colours. Also I named my raptor Yoshi.

I remember this game. It was one of my favorite DS games.

I played both games on DS and these were FIRE ! I remember always having a cloud ready for any wildfire, and strugling like hell to blow to shake trees but being too stubborn to just use the tactile way lmao

I used to have both the regular sim animals and the africa sim animals for my ds 😂 Those were the good days

In Sims Africa I always liked throwing them into the water.. and whenever you put in codes to make your zebra rainbow or your elephant pink you would never be able to use that save again 😶

I had cracked versions of SimAnimals Africa and Forests on my Wii when i was younger and i loved it haha. I would play it again today, just for the sake of nostalgia (and also because i wasn’t able to figure out some stuff about the gameplay and the story back then and I need to take my revenge on these game and figure it out)

THESE GAMES WERE SO FIRE

Freaking loved these games (DS ones I never played the Wii ones) man. They were so good. Might be nostalgia based on this video 🤣 but straight out the womb I loved grindy games that take ages to progress. I would totally play these again now and I remember collecting everything in both games. Every fish and bug in Africa and there was some cool color changing things that were really rare and you got an achievement for it or something (you discovered one accidentally) The first one for some reason was a bit harder for me than Africa

i remember playing Sim Animals Africa on the DS. my only gripe is that they should’ve added more animals like buffalo, leopards, baboons, chimps, ostriches etc.

Dude i played sims animals the forest one for hours and hours and hours i remember all the low quality animation and all the sounds, i remember setting shit on fire it was so fun

My childhood self would've loved the wii version. I was all over zoo tycoon back then.

SimAnimals was my childhood and I played the DS and Wii versions of both games exensively as an animal fanatic. Looking back, I think the games had a very interesting idea but didn't quite get the excecution, and an 'ecosystem management' game is a fundamentally flawed idea as the animals were personified too much, ecosystems tend to operate best when you don't interfere with them, and I don't think the developers quite understood the food pyramid problem. To sustain a single wolf or bear you'd realistically need several herds of deer, for example.

Funny I played this so much before the Sims this was literally my first game lol 😅 I didn't Remember it as sims

The Wii version of SimAnimals Africa was everything to me as a kid!!! I was so disappointed that the DS version was different. I struggled to get through all the levels on the regular Wii SimAnimals game -- it seemed glitchy or just kinda busted. And my files on Wii SimAnimals Africa always got corrupted right at the end of the game and I couldn't continue playing on them, but that's ok cuz I restarted the game many times. You can collect a bunch of species of bugs. :~)

oh god i cant remember off the top of my head just had to google it again lol but i was using the beta version of dolphin, and it was under graphics settings and changing the backend to direct3D 11 ( or u can change to vulkan but direct3d 11 work for me) hope this fixes it !!! xx
