SiMagic P1000 Peddals - The Brakes are Braking! 🤔

Ойындар

Today I will be looking at my new favourite set of Sim Racing pedals . In my first initial review (linked below) I found the drop off in the brakes too much for my liking and the throttle too soft. Today I will be addresing and FIXING both those issues!

    I keep seeing all of.this talk about the throttle and changing the spring. It's not necessary. The throttle preload is adjustable and you can make the black spring uncomfortably stiff just by adding preload. I also took apart the throttle and added spacers to the shaft which brought the gas pedal in some. It soaked up some.odmthe excess travel and made it so you can adjust the pedal position in relation to the brake for easier heal/toe. But anyway, if you guys just want a stiffer pedal. Add preload. Loosen jam nut, spin the main shaft clockwise until the pedal is stiff enough, re tighten jam nut. Maybe I'll do a video on the spacer mod showing what I did and explaining it more

    @@TheSimCircuit yes sir that was me. I'm sure the blue screen feels great. Was just stating that, especially for those that don't want to pull it apart or don't have the extra springs, you can just add preload without disassembling anything to create a much stiffer throttle. Great videos btw!

    Yes - blind test will be best = because when you trail braking you mostly check the entry not the % of braking on your sim + I prefer racing for the full immersion with true displays = good to know that it is fixed now. Makes my decision between the Sim-Lab XP1 vs Simagic P1000 more difficult ! Most likely I will go for Sim-Lab XP1 + custom a DIY haptic for the brake

    I have what must be an early batch P1000's (I later added the hydraulic break) and when I register my breaking input at say 80% it stays there with 0% fluctuation. I find the stock throttle feel ok. I tried all the clutch springs (like you say, a total pain the arse to change) but found them all a bit too stiff for my liking, so just reverted to stock. If Simagic were to offer the adjustable loadcell throttle from the P2000's as an upgrade for the P1000's though I'd buy it without hesitation (hope you're listening Simagic 😉)

  • @SCIPSCON010

    But it's a bit strange that Simagic include those extra aluminium spacers for the elastomer stack with the hydraulic system,. wouldn't it help with the loadcell backdrop when using 1 or 2 in the loadcell stack?.. also there is this guy on yt that solved that problem with the usage of a spring, he also made a fanatec demper on the trotthle incl 3d printed parts to make it fit. Does the haptic shaker deliver good results at low settings without making my neighbors mad?

  • @TheSimCircuit

    @TheSimCircuit

    6 ай бұрын

    Was using all 3 aluminium spacers makes pedal shorter & stiffer as for dropoff it did not make a much of a difference compared to using all softer elastomers 🤷🏼‍♂️ I also would have thought that going much stiffer would have much less drop of but the difference is less than 2% from what I can see. That could also be me not holding pressure 100% the same so keep that in mind. Don’t worry about noise I do not think these will bother your neighbours, certainly could bother someone is same room or next room if loud. I run mine at 25% and don’t have the need to run higher, you can also change the frequency this also makes big difference in sound and how shakers feel. But I suggest unless you can go active pedals then 100% buy some shakers 😉

    Hey matey one thing I can say is the fanatec v3 pedals I used for 2 years myself and are good pedals however you can’t compare them to the p1000. If your budget allows 100% go with the p1000’s would be my advice. The brake issue is a thing of the past now simagic have sorted that but also I have been testing a accessory kit with 5 different springs that simagic is about to release and it has made the p1000 even better I believe. Also the p1000 you can upgrade as time goes on you don’t have to buy everything at once. Last bit of advice unless you are 100% sure you are going to be using the clutch on the regular for say drifting I would just buy the 2 pedal version and put the extra towards a shaker or something. Hopefully this helps

    @@TheSimCircuitthanks very much for your reply..... sorry though, I forgot to mention, that I will be buying my new rig/Simagic setup for use solely with Playstation 5 only (I don't plan on getting into PC Racing). Sigma Cortex converters allow the use of Simagic gear to PS5, so that CAN be done, but I hear/read that it dulls the capability of the Simagic gear down to a basic G29 type level of use (not sure how true that is?) .... is it still worth it to get Simagic over Fanatec? Honestly mate it’s two different pedals in way they were designed so actually hard to give answers. But what I would say is if you generally use allot of force on the brakes then go invictas but if you prefer more of a traditional brake feel then go p1000. If you also want to replicate the feeling of a real race cars brakes then go invictas. Both are excellent if I was only able to pick one I would pick the p1000’s but this decision is heavily impacted by the fact I have an injury on my left knee so to use the 2 phase braking on the invictas I need to put more force than what I want on my knee 🤦🏼‍♂️

    Hey matey thanks for the comment, yes can adjust preload to make the pedal stiffer before the pedal travels but once you push down on the pedal & the pedal is in motion it’s the spring that provides the resistance not the preload. I might be interpreting it wrong but I played around with all the bolts on my p1000 including the preload. SiMagic are now shipping these pedals with a stiffer spring in the box not sure they would do that if it could be done without the spring 🤷🏼‍♂️ I also realised wile buying the extra stiff throttle spring for my Asetek pedals that what I consider stiff others think it’s just ok cause I could not use the extra stiff spring (too stiff) others thought it was perfect. So the stiffness of the pedal will be something to each persons taste 👅 for me the p1000 throttle needed that bit more 👍🏻
