@@angelusvastator1297 nah it wasn't. If you follow through Bacchus's substory/training, he says it's because a boxer he was training got stabbed by Yakuza. It's more trying to avoid that happening again to someone promising in boxing, like Kiryu

The fact Kiwami 2 hit us so bad is if you played 0 and Kiwami, you’ve grown with Kiryu and genuinely feel something for Kaoru and Ryuji, I remember crying happy tears in the chapter where Kiryu saves Kaoru from those thugs from the River and then they go hangout and that’s when you realize she has feelings for him, such a good game 10/10.

@@kevinmulia6503 It really did. I'm doing my first playthrough if the series, started with 0 back in January and am currently on Haruaka's chapter in 5. For sure it might have been somewhat better to play 0 after it all, since I would understand alot of the references better in retrospect. But doing 0 first makes all of those things even better since everything they find out is new, which is new to me as well. Like I wouldn't care as much about Nishiki being a villain in 1 if I hadn't played 0 first. Or I wouldn't enjoy Majima as much without 0 since otherwise with the exception of 0, 4 and 5 he doesn't show any other side than "crazy guy". Even small characters, like Dojima are fleshed out more. Or side characters, like I just got to Ogita in 5 with Haruka. He's in 0 as well.

I mean, not to stretch as far as saying Yakuza 0 is a perfect game or a prequel (imho its perfect but still) with all of those plot points and flashed out characters explained deeper in Y0 to lay out the rest of Kiryu's journey throughout Yakuza series, i'd say Y0 had done a marvelous job doing so

@@kevinmulia6503 Biggest issue I've had so far though was going from the 4 fighting styles in 0 and Kiwami to just the 1 in Kiwami 2. Then basically going back in time with clunky gameplay of 3. 4 and 5 aren't too bad in these regards. I'm just excited to get back to Kiwami 2 style gameplay with 6. Then throw it all out the window with 7.

@@SirBigWater well yeah considering that 3 4 and 5 were gradually improved with the very obscure mechanic and technology they had before, and all they had done was remaster so it can't be helped. Although i felt that my least favorite fighting mechanics is in the Dragon engine, which to me felt bland real soon

now i better think twice before picking up a can of beans that rolls towards me

The omitted music is a big reason I have imported every title. Even though it wasn’t needed in the case of Kiwami 2, I still don’t regret importing it, especially since I got the special edition.

Close to finishing Yakuza 4 and I still come back to this song. I started my journey in the Yakuza series back in 2020 and undoubtedly Kiwami 2 will be the one that's hit me the hardest, all because of this song.

Just got started replaying the series for the 2nd time other than 6 and like a dragon bc 6 really fucked with my depression and i Didn't like the fighting in like a dragon, actually just started a few days ago and beat Kawami 1 and 2 and just beat 3 today and started 4 so ye from Kawami 1-5 the sagas that really started fueling my dream to move to Japan and try and join the Yakuza but fuck knows if either will ever happen, I've buried plenty of dreams and somehow i already know both those dreams are next inline to die prolly

@@gaiterade1006 at least with Makoto, it wasnt just the fact that Majima let her go to protect her from being even tangentally related to the Yakuza, but also the fact that it shows Majima's love for Makoto at how he was willing to let her go The Kaoru thing was fucking dumb and I HATED it. It felt like it was an obligatory "well Kiryu can't ALWAYS have a fully happy ending" moment

Damn... I was so let down by the way they just wrote Sayama out of the story after this. Like she's by far my favorite of Kiryu's Romantic interests. This moment felt so raw... So real... So important to Kiryu's character progression. And it all amounts to nothing in the grand scheme of things! Damn dude... Maybe I'm taking this too seriously. lol

To be fair they really just forgot about her as in yakuza 6 the starting scene is the people who are important to him and have helped him, but sayama didn't appear in that at all, despite sharing an entire game solely with him, I think they just didn't like her character

@@mx5097 actually, the first two yakuza games were written by an actual crime author. I think he left right before they could start another mainline yakuza game for the ps3, and that's why they made kenzan instead of yakuza 3. It's pretty shitty that they wrote her out of the story

Kiryu and Kaoru didn't get together Majima meets Makoto for the last time Feels like I got both Tiger Dropped and Mad Dog Counter'ed in the heart

Man, Yakuza Kiwami 2 left me shaking. Either in adrenaline, or because I was emotionally moved, or maybe even both. However, this song helped immensely. This song is incredible.

The thing is, the positives of this game hide the atrocious Jingweon story, Kaoru's character development saved the game. And yes, if Kiryu and Kaoru died at the end, I wouldn't even be mad, because what a way to go.

what made you cry excactly? The ending? I didn't find it that, emotional. But I did cry a bit in Yakuza 0, the forest scene with Nishkiyama, that triggered it for me.

I know I will cry when I'll play it myself. Saw a playthrough and i loved it. I hope i will get the whole Saga. Literally the whole Saga. Yakuza 0 to 7. I Already got 0 and have beaten it and I'm trying out Legend mode. Doing alright. Really hope i will get Kiwami 1 and 2.

Just got to the rain scene in Kiwami 2, truly the most anime thing I have ever seen in a video game I had chills the entire time. I am loving the entire Yakuza/LAD series.

This song during the last scene in Kiwami 2 gave me chills. awesome song.

The night my bird passed away. The last time I saw him he was on my shoulder while this played in kiwami 2. Next morning he was gone. I use this song to remind me of him.

Lay Doh Things hurt once Kiryu’s story is over in Yakuza 6.

Let's not forget the ending of kiwami 2 was much more touching and heartbreaking than the knife scene, watching the BB scene at the end of the game for the first time made me cry as I though they where both going to die such an amazing game and touching story.

Man....it's not just Kiwami 2. It's also a lament that the girl you've loved for so long is going overseas to study and you're happy for her but terrified that you'll lose touch and life will just move on. I owe Kiwami 2 a lot for introducing me to the song, but it has taken on new meanings for me. I suppose that's life.

Thank you Coco for getting me into the Yakuza games and making me discover SiM in the process. Kiwami 2 was so damn good.

These games are so good. I got to Yakuza 3. Yeah, it's very sad that they erased Kaoru like nothing, after she chose death with Kiryu rather than living without him. It's also kinda difficult to realize that Kiryu's saga is destined to end. Personally I'm very attached to Kiryu and it will be so strange to see a wild protagonist with many emotions thinking a different way etc...

Yakuza Kiwami 2 brought me here. Ahhhh it’s such a great game this song fits the ending so well

Been playing through all the Yakuza games on game pass. I genuinely feel for these characters and slowly but surely Yakuza Is becoming my favorite series of all time.

I only started the Yakuza series in late november of 2020 and it only took 0 for the series to become my favourite of all time and now that I've 100% every single mainline yakuza game and dead souls and finished the main story of the whole series twice. I'm very grateful it exists.

teppolundgren true, but the scene had so much emotions for me. i felt like kiryu really hated himself for his past and that he just wanted to end it all before that annoying scene of course, the music made it more emotional too

+Nigel Tan All I could think about was how he stood there, staring at the river, for probably close to 12 hours straight! And although the song is kind of emotional....it started to rain. Because nothing says "man grieving" more clearly than a man getting wet. I guess I'm more cynical than you, Nigel? Unless a scene hits me hard, I can't help but dissect it for cliches and flaws. But I did get a lump in my throat at the end of the Majima Saga. Of course it felt like a scene designed to make you swell up, but it worked, dammit. But had I not played 0 first, the scene would've meant nothing. It would've just been "What the hell is going on here?"...

I'll bet over 50% of the people that come here, come here because of yakuza, What an ending though to a great game
