I never know where I stand.
Which level I belong.
There’s history here, it dies with me, the show won’t go on.
But I always find myself back.
Red to green and in between, my reputation feeds me.
I still remember my first time with Armor in Hell,
But somehow I planned my escape to Heaven.
I know everything I’ve done has lead me here
But I’m not scared to go.
Lift up everything I own and I’ll climb up.
Like a fake we’re the actors dishonouring the stage.
But we won’t hide our faces.
This masquerade remains to be seen.
So if we die out before we are through, did we really believe?
As I pondered in silence, motionless in the Georgian heat
I realized nothing would ever be the same.
And at that moment I knew I could never replicate that feeling
Without destroying something I loved.
Wisdom, justice, moderation.
Slow down when you’re trying to speak the words don’t come clearly. The letters spelling out, the spirits spilling out their guts.
Open the doors and show us who we are.

Holy shit! This song is about the best musical venue in Atlanta- The Masquerade. There are two parts: Heaven, the upstairs and Hell, the downstairs, and in between is the Bar- aptly named Purgatory! He alludes to it when he sings: "I still remember my first time with Armour in Hell// But somehow I planned my escape to Heaven//" Armour is band they toured with. Hell is where the smaller or local bands play, while Heaven is where the main attractions play. Also, the line: "This masquerade remains to be seen//" I mean he literally says the name of the venue! And then, he drives the point home when he speaks: "As I pondered in silence, motionless in the Georgian heat// I realized nothing would ever be the same//"

Which makes it that much more depressing that the masquerade is moving. Hopefully they'll get to play there again before then.

I hope that I'm wrong; I just don't trust all of the development happening down there. www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/print-edition/2015/02/06/a-brand-new-show-set-for-the-masquerade.html?page=all
Bands like this give me hope for rock and roll in the future.
Can't believe I've been listening to them since like middle school and they're STILL AMAZING

2nd song I've heard by these guys. If their this good, I'm gonna like this
This is the first time I've listened to Silverstein and this sounds pretty great. To me hey sound really similar to Story Of The Year, a band I'd very much recommend.
oh silverstein, you're the best, like, srsly.
The best thing to come out of Canada 🤘

Alexisonfire and Counterparts are right up there with them in that genre. Don't forget about Protest The Hero, Structures, The Afterimage, Mandroid Echostar, Intervals, Ion Dissonance, and Devin Townsend.
Considering the fact that this song it's about The Masquerade, when i hear the music and the screams of Shane, i get a vibe from ADTR. For some strange reason the lyrics of this song reminds me City Of Ocala. It's nicely how the bands can easily remember the most beatiful places in their lyrics.
SILVERSTEIN FOR LIFE
