Always look forward to these "things were better in the past" BS. Linda was wonderful and one of the handful of the greatest American singers of all time. But, there are plenty of fantastic singers nowadays. You just have to get rid of your Sony walkman and do a bit of exploring. You would be surprised at what you will find even here on KZread.

She would, I guess, have been every guys dream girlfriend but could also sing "I'll be your baby tonight' like the sexiestsong on the planet. She was so pretty and sweet she could outweigh the contradictions.Mama Cass once said it was difficult for a girl singer. I’m afraid you have all this wrong. It has been proven by clinical studies at the University of Dispepsia that the act of piercing releases hidden negative energies within the body thus allowing the positive energies to exert their dominance and thereby enhancing the person’ natural abilities. In the same vein, it has been established through a widespread and independently verified survey of over 10 people that the application of a tattoo dynamically changes the personality of the wearer. Apparently, this effect is not seen with servicemen and servicewomen who largely remain unaltered. However, with everyone else, and only a rare few exceptions, the act of the tattoo plus the design of the design does seem to turn losers into winners; outsiders into insiders; the weak into the strong and the mentally challenged into experts on any subject. At least, all this is achieved into their own minds. We mustn’t also forget the very important benefit for parents of having their children’s names tattooed on them. For instance, they may have so many, with so many different partners, that they need to keep a handy record of all their names. Or, they might be, how shall we say, register low on the Dumbo Scale that they have to have a visible reminder of names in front of their eyes. However, despite all of this, the most important benefit of a person with more than a couple of tattoos is that they act as a signal for the rest of us of people who we should not waste our breath on. Here endeth the lesson.

Saw her in '74 at the height of her powers, at an outdoor concert. She finished "Desperado" in a hushed voice, as we leaned forward to catch the last notes. Then she TORE into this. EXACTLY. Saw her in 1980 at the Capital Center with my girlfriend, now my wife of 40!! years... and I love every note of every song she sings. I will tell you that she opened up that concert with Mad Love and literally pinned every one of us to the back of our seats. I turned to wifey and said, OMG, if she keeps that up, she'll have no voice left at end. AND DANG, if her voice LITERALLY GOT STRONGER over that entire concert! Not kidding, no exaggeration, I will never, ever forget that. There are a bunch of super talented female voices - Celine, Whitney, even Gaga... but really truly, Linda is hands down the queen. Long live the queen!!

I was incredibly lucky to first hear her live. It seemed as though she barely parted her lips and this huge wall of sound pushed you back in your seat. It was the most incredible experience. I had never heard anything like it and to this day, I've never heard anything even close. She is the standard by which I judge other singers. She out-performed the best recording equipment of the day. No one could capture all of her voice. It was so frustrating and then, along comes the micro chip. Hallelujah!!!

Linda, demonstrating in full technicolor and stereophonic sound, why her talent and her career at that time were characterized most often as "Meteoric." She was like a red-hot blazing comet of artistic ability sailing across the heavens. And you cannot touch a comet. No other female came close in the 1970s. Women are normally the ones who could develop crushes on actors and performers. For men it is much rarer. Linda had that ultra-rare "certain something" that would bring men to their knees slobbering, and then leave the building in love.

Queen of hi-fidelity vinyl and even more mesmerizing Live. No one else quite like Linda Ronstadt. ❤️

Hello So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song.
I loved you back 40 years ago and I still do today! The complete package
Saw her in '74 at the height of her powers, at an outdoor concert. She finished "Desperado" in a hushed voice, as we leaned forward to catch the last notes. Then she TORE into this. Pinned our ears back but good. The BEST at what she does. Bless you Linda, we will never forget the way you make us feel.

Eagles were her backup band! She was great enough to let them go on their own. What a lady!

@@kevinrichards481 Indeed, she help create and promote The Eagles
I was incredibly lucky to first hear her live. It seemed as though she barely parted her lips and this huge wall of sound pushed you back in your seat. It was the most incredible experience. I had never heard anything like it and to this day, I've never heard anything even close. She is the standard by which I judge other singers. She out-performed the best recording equipment of the day. No one could capture all of her voice. It was so frustrating and then, along comes the micro chip. Hallelujah!!!
Gorgeous pipes. Pure, natural and an amazing authentic vibe. Rock on!
She's not on the Mount Rushmore of female vocalists. She is the mountain.

you got THAT right.............and " Blue Bayou makes me melt EVERY time I hear it
There's definitely life before you've ever heard Linda sing and life after you've heard her sing. That's how powerful the effect of her voice and her emotion is.

Oh yes she's my all-time favorite singer and she has some of the most beautiful songs out there because she's an amazing creature! I feel grateful to have lived in the sixties and seventies to have witness her incredible music

Those legs. That outfit. Room full of prisoners. That's like dangling a piece of meat in front of hyenas.
DAMN! I love that dress. I wish she'd had more than one and I already miss that voice!
Big Pipes on a little special gal. Deep musical chops. Love her still and proud of it.
She excelled in so many genres. Just the best. ❤
I'm so glad I lived through the 70s and witnessed the great musical talent on both sides of the Atlantic
I know the feeling. She was hurt to the max as many have been. But Moved on with her life and made the world a better place thanks to her talent. She is one of the Great singers of all time!💕
