I love Silver the Hedgehog so much and he’s why... 1. He’s cute 2. He’s sweet 3. He has a kind heart 4. He has a calm soft voice 5. He’s a hero 6. He’s underrated 7. He’s very fluffy 8. He’s young and naive (which I like that about him) 9. He has psychokinesis powers 10. Overall he’s one of my favorites and needs his own game!

Sonic is the cocky attitude Shadow is the arrogant life form and Silver is the level-headedness of the two, that's actually not a bad role since both sonic and shadow love to play with fire all the time .. Silver also likes fire, but not in the same way they do because he's too level-headed.

Silver needs a game. A lot about silver revolves around his destroyed future and since he's not as fast as sonic they could make an open world game. Imagine flying around and exploring a destroyed future as silver. That would be fantastic

He is my fave character too, one of the better things that came from this game, seeing him in Forces made me excited, only to have whatever hopes I still had shattered when he was unplayable and completely useless as a side character, I'm hoping he will be available in a future sonic game, there were leaks to say he would be in the new teased game at the end of the 30th anniversary stream, but nothing for sure

I feel bad for Silver and his fans, folks will always bring up the 06 to put him down plus it doesn't help he gets treated as another "side character" in recent games. There's a reason Silver struggles to make it into the official 5 most Sonic popular characters lists and it's not even his fault... :/

Hopefully with the new Age of Sonic Games coming up Sliver and others character that have been mis-utilized, forgotten or regressed can get there redemption they so rightfully deserve.

Yes! Exactly! I would Love to see Silver The Hedgehog in Sonic Prime and Sonic Frontiers as playable character! Why is silver always being a background character? I wish he was more playable in sonic games. He should be been playable just like shadow in sonic forces. SEGA could have finally gave silver a chance to have a spotlight to finally be playable for such a long time. But NO he's getting left out like always which I'm getting really serious pissed off about.

You don’t have to read the entire Archie comic, start around issue 150. You’ll have to endure ten issues of garbage dialogue, but by 160 it’ll start being worth reading. Anything pre-150 is...unneeded.

really? I have been reading Archie comics for a while. I am around 60 now. I thought "dark and plot heavy" like Sonic Universe starts at 100. The "classic style comic" isn't my thing so I am kinda speed reading. Should I honestly skip to 150? I don't miss much about the """plot""" right?

@@alpersoylu00 I can confirm that, for someone who doesn't care for the Classic Saturday Morning Cartoon style, starting from issue 150 is best. The way the plot of the comics works, everything pre-150 basically gets reset anyways, in the sense that the story shifts gears entirely from that point onward and hardly ever references prior events in any meaningful way. At worst, you might miss out on the odd character introduction, but the comics make a point of "re-introducing" characters who first appeared in older issues whenever they show up again, just to remind any forgetful readers.

He disappears in the same comic though. So, as long as I don't miss out on the """""plot""""" in the classic satam stuff that much, I will jump straight to 150 then. Thanks

No no, the Genesis Wave stuff comes later. Reset may have been the wrong word to use. I just mean that things from pre-issue-150 basically become irrelevant from that point onward as the comic moves on to more developed and mature storylines. Events from that period are rarely ever brought up by the cast, and on the few occasions that they are, there's a little sideboard text window clarifying what the characters are talking about for any readers who may have forgotten or didn't read that particular issue.

@@alpersoylu00 as someone whom started to read the archive comics around 2018 and read random issues because I didn't know where to start. I can confirm that issue 150 is a good place to start since most issues before that are over-the-top, to much drama, too convoluted, or plots that tide with the SatAM cartoon (which I didn't watch). Don't get me wrong, there is some good stuff, like the plots about knuckles and his tribe or where metal sonic saves tails and sonic, but after that not much is of my liking. But if you ask me where someone should start reading, it should be with the Sonic Universe comics. They're self-contained sagas around 4 issues long and if some important event happened in the past issues affects the plot, the comic will tell you what issue it is so you can read it and find out more about characters you may not be familiar with.

Man I miss this character when he was important, when he was playable and stuff. sega really down played this character, honestly this hedgehog used to be my favorite character because his theme is great, and he had a sad story because the future was a terrible place. but basically he's always in the background of games and I'm like "huh?" didn't his future be saved? why is he always here for no reason? I miss silver as a speaking role, and he always was great in my own heart. all of what I am saying is from my opinion, he may he a copy from trunks in DBZ but I still appreciate him. he doesn't have much friends besides blaze, I think they have a bit of decent chemistry together you know.

honestly i can't wait for your blaze analysis video. she's definitely a wonderful example of a female protag who's brave and headstrong while also being quite calculated and tactical. she's a valiant fighter and has so much potential to be a protag in a future game. she also has a lot of potential given that she's a protector of the sol emeralds. development for her would certainly be fun because she constantly believes she should work independently and that she's cursed by her powers and responsibilities. also blaze and silver's friendship is fun! there is so much potential there! sega has so much to work with with the characters they've given us in the past smh

I've always said that we need a Silver spin-off. Other than Knuckles, Silver absolutely has the most gameplay AND story potential for his own spin-off. Just imagine playing as Silver in a good-future setting, meeting all the characters in his time, friends, rivals, enemies, etc.

AU idea: What if a non-time travel version of Silver replaced the Avatar in Sonic Forces, being a sort of Miles Morales or Batman Beyond type-character?

It could be his ancestor or Silver could just be trapped in the present and decides to live there or Silver could be a native of Blaze's dimension instead of being from the future ;)

He has such a tragic back story that needs to be told. IDW does an amazing job at it that they manage to give him a satisfying ending. Why can't Sega do it?

It's actually really sad that Silver is always in a loop of being from a destroyed future and is always trying to change it. There is no happy ending for him as long as sega only brings him back everytime the future is ruined. It kinda sucks that Silver's fate is a cycle of pain he isn't even fully aware of.

Silver is one of my favorite Sonic characters.

Sega has this fool notion in their collective heads that anything that came from 06 is bad, and needs to be forgotten or ignored for the best. The characters in 06 weren't bad, hell even the story wasn't terrible (confusing and arbitrary, sure, but not bad on paper). What sucked about 06 was the **execution**. If they'd had more time to iron out the game, to review the script, then it could have been amazing. But instead it was a rushed mess. That isn't Silver's fault. Seriously, there's an entire future timeline setting they could play around with that they're just sitting on because they're just so terrified of reminding their customers that 06 was a thing that existed. If the company would just grow a pair, then they could give Silver another shot at being in the spotlight. Fortunately the current mass overhauling of the Sonic Team staff seems to imply that serious company and policy changes are in the works. Hopefully that means the current age of overly quirky, self-referential, cringey humor Sonic who hardly ever gives any focus to other chars is over, and we'll see a return to form of the Adventure style.

I’d honestly love to see silver get more involvement into future sonic games, or maybe even some games that focus on him more.

Dude I started tearing up a little bit due to how true this is. Omg this really gets on my nerves because this character is just literally, SITTING on the side, rotting away with potential yet SEGA is taking way too long to realize this. So far they are doing him a little justice but....it's not enough. We need more of him. He is the key man, he really is.

Silver is actually my favorite character in the entire Sonic franchise! He's been a really positive influence in my life and gives me a lot of hope that I can grow into the kind of person I want to be, even though I know that I still have a lot to learn like he does. Even when he makes a mistake, he tries his hardest to make things right again and that really gets to me as I'm far from perfect but do my best to set things right as best I can. His story and character has always just been such an inspiration to me, and I've been dying for SEGA to give him the chance to truly shine in a way that other fans will finally be able to recognize him. I've actually being praying for SEGA to give Silver his very own game some day that will give him that opportunity he needs. A game where he can grow as a character and finally have a truly good reason to appear in future Sonic games without it feeling forced or out of place. I really like the idea you had of him finally succeeded in saving his future and deciding to stay/return to the past where Sonic and the others are because he misses the adventures. I also like the personal journey he could take as he learns to grow into his own kind of hero that you talked about. We've literally seen Silver try to imitate Shadow in the Olympic Games if the two team up and win, so seeing him try to figure out if his character is more like Sonic or more like Shadow would be a nice touch as he learns that he is more of a mixture of the two while still being his own person. I've also seen many fan comics where Silver is the middle ground between Sonic and Shadow and helps dissolve tensions between the two whenever they end up butting heads, being able to see both of their perspectives or just flat out snap at them for fighting over something dumb when there's something more serious going on that only he is focused on. It's very much in character for him as he grows and becomes his own hero. Man, talking about all the ways Silver could develop and become the hero he was always meant to be is getting me all pumped up and excited to see him finally receive the love and justice he rightfully deserves! SEGA! Seriously! Give us that Silver game you teased having interests in already! I'm DYING for it to finally happen! Just, please, don't destroy Silver's true character like you did to Shadow when you gave him his own game . . .

Back in the day my friends called it "Cool white sonic" talking about how cool the design was, def my fave back then, i used to like him even more than Sonic, nice old early 2000s

I don't see how anyone but Archie Comics or IDW could save Silver; I mean, look at how they fixed Tails! He's not a whiny brat in the IDW comics, but a helpful, confident fox that would stay behind and help others at the expense of his own safety. Sonic's still cocky, but he's far more mature and heroic in these stories than he is in the games. Now, if only Shadow could be fixed.

Silver's spines is based off of a japanese maple leaf. Not a marijuana leaf.

I like the Idea that silver's abilities are boosted by the rings on his arm, sort of the opposite of the inhibitor rings, while it's never mentioned in any media, it's a neat idea.

I agree with everything you said. Silver is my favorite Sonic character, I love his design, his powers, the strong personality he had in 06. Silver has appeared in the games for nothing else but fan service, as you said, but I'm not happy with just that! Hopefully, if we're getting new writers, they will give Silver the attention he deserves.

I have another idea for a Silver arc: Having Sonic and Silver be the heroes of their own eras and Shadow being the thread connecting the two. Silver doesn't have to go to the past to work: he can work within his own era just fine. It also goes well with another concept of mine, that is a hero with a connection to Chaos energy appearing once a generation (kinda like in Avatar). Essentially; Sonic's the now-legendary initiator, Shadow is the highly experienced mastermind, and Silver is the representative of the newest generation. There are a host of other Chaos Adepts in-between them, and the active ones (obviously) vary in age. The future is idyllic (for the most part, villains still appear); but upon meeting Shadow for the first time, he gets a flash-sideways look into the Sonic 06 doomed future. And that implied connection kicks off the plot. Of course, I have a different rebranding of the characters and the setting (humanization, realistic world, changed names and even genders), but the basic premise remains. I want it to become a cartoon...

I hope someday Silver can accomplish his dream of killing Android 18 and 19 Also I just realized Sonic 06 was the last game to truly utilize the Sonic cast

Honestly what they should do to reckon that time travel thing is just make silver use the times tones. I mean that would make so much more sense since in 06 the emeralds were more like times tones than emeralds. Just say that knuckles’s species died off so the emeralds were lost so they used the times tones instead.

We need a silver game. Silver was something great to come out of 06 and stop bashing Silver's character. I love his character and we need to see more of him both in the comics and the games. He wasn't even playable in Sonic Forces.

Silver could easily be an antagonist - not a villain, an antagonist. Take his hope for a better tomorrow, and frustration that his future refuses to change. Now let him grow increasingly frustrated and desperate so he resorts to greater and greater measures. In fact, have one such measure fundamentally conflict with Sonic and Shadow's values, and boom! There's your antagonist. Sonic disavows Silver's actions in and out themselves. Shadow can empathize with Silver's dark turn but reminds the young hedgehog that he's spitting on the memory of the people he's supposed to be fighting for. Silver went from Trunks (Dragonball) to Eren Jaeger (Attack On Titan) and his character has stayed consistent.

I'm a fan of his theme and Psychic Knife movie in the boss battle, I felt more empathetic to him and understand he's an adorable little cinnamon roll, he doesn't need to be kicked out and treated like this. I even love Future Trunks and played him alot in Sonic Forces Speed Battle, SRZG, SFR and 06 but I really like his Super form, his abilities look quite interesting even though he only had two, the Turbo Boost and Shield of Light so I'd love to see what they can do with Super Silver and Silver.

One things that's pretty cool if you think of it, is that in Sonic 06, Silver represents the future, Shadow the Past, and Sonic the Present.

What if they changed the time-travel mechanic so it's like Endgame, no matter what Silver does in the past, his future is doomed, so he may as well stick around with Sonic and company.

One idea I’ve been sitting on is multiple versions of Silver, one from a bad future and the other from a good future, both of them duking it out for whatever reason. Maybe bad future Silver is exploiting time travel to fix his time and good future Silver is trying to keep whatever time travel/multiverse bsery to a minimum as a sort of self-appointed time cop.

I have said it before on videos but a game focusing on him as well would be a brilliant move. Compared to characters like Blaze, Knuckles, and Shadow, I think he’d make a very unique counterpart to Sonic

Silver is one of Segas most underrated characters, he is the savior of his timeline as well as a brand edition to Sonics team and I feel that he should get another chance at life ya know...foreshadowing characters is bad for any video game brand and it’s killing SEGA in its moment of success🎬

Commenting for the sake of algorithm so this gets recommended to more people I always thought that Silver coming back from the future because is destroyed over and over, just doesn't make sense in terms of time travelling, but he could have a simple reason to go back to the future like just preventing bad things to happen or he wants to be with his friends because he feels lile he belongs there or your explanation I also believe Silver could be the "middle one" in terms of personality between Sonic and Shadow, it worked on 06', even Shadow did some kind of mentor figure for him so why not keep it? He could learn and grow from both of them You just earn a suscriber :)

Silver deserves so much better than he got. I will agree that it does limit him that his whole thing is save the future and when that's done there's nothing left for him to do. So what about this: retcon his back story and make him a citizen of the dimension that Blaze and Marine are from. Blaze will be queen eventually, so she can't realistically be both monarch and guardian of the Sol Emeralds. That would be a heavy load for anyone. Maybe Blaze discovers Silver and decides to train him to be the new guardian? He might not have as much direct contact with Sonic and Shadow as suggested in the video, but when he does meet with them, he'd have great mentors.

the way you want his story to go is he must learn that he is an optimist, but also a realist

Him being a mainline character going forward means that the actual main characters are always messing up and losing to the bad guys in such a bad way that Silver literally has to (not only still exist, but) want to, but find a way to go back to go past to the past. Maybe every once in a long while Silver can come back to the present, but him being a member of the main cast consistently defeats the purpose. If he's going to have consistently screentime, it needs to be carried by him being in his own future and saving his own future.

Silver was basically the Future Trunks/Lucina of the Sonic series. I WISH he was used more, especially since Forces tried to make him more prominent. But then he got, like, 2 cutscenes and that was it.

I'm on board with everything the only thing I would change is the conflict. There has to be an external reason other than just the internal conflict to push Silver to just f*ck around stealing a chaos emerald from angel island (judging his character last thing he'd want to do is to mess with Knuckles). External conflicts are good to push characters to make decisions. Their internal conflict needs a bigger reason other than longing adventure . For example he has to save blaze and the only way he can save her is to obtain all the chaos emeralds and he was prohibited to tell anybody from the possible antagonist of the story or other external/internal reason that's all depends how events play out that bring out the character the best and worst of them without construction to his main characteristics

I've always thought if he could have another game to show him having a happy end he could play a MegaMan X type role, because even though he has a happy future doesn't mean there wouldn't be evil for him to fight

Silver wasn't on the course to be a main character since nowadays the sonic series only has one main character, Sonic the hedgehog the rest are side characters since Sega thinks the only characters we want to play as is Sonic and, Classic sonic. (Also I don't count episode shadow cause you can't even play shadow on every sonic stage... Pretty much any stage with a QTE Shadow is unplayable in, any Team Stage, Shadow is unplayable in, Sonic Boss stages Shadow is unplayable in, Team Boss stages Shadow is unplayable in. and hes only fully utilized in his 3 stages, and has to be downloaded as extra content. Sega doesn't even want to acknowledge super sonic anymore.) I think the modern sonic series need a reboot... Not saying they should get rid of all the characters and ideas just reset the story and disconnect it from the other games, more importantly disconnect it from classic sonic.
