Would be funny if we got a “my friend went to silver creek and all I got was this stupid shirt”

My theory is...like you said, there was likely tie-ins planned, but with the cancellation, Massive didn't want to (or couldn't) do rerecords, so they blurred out the Silver Creek town name so they could put something else in its place, or figure out what to reveal in that spot later. That's what seems most logical to me anyway.

I think the dev team probably didnt want the recording of the comms to go to waste so they still realease them i doubt they will continue anything heartland related except maybe bring some outfits in but especially since they are all hands on deck with the dlc maybe they will do something for d3 but thats a long time away

Heartland was canceled so it can be used in Div 2 or Div 3, I'm calling it.

Dont really see that happening soon. Even assuming its compatible mechanically and you can just join both games, its gonna take a long time, and i guess it would be planned way ahead

I think you hit the nail on the target Rogue. I totally agree with you. I am sad about Heartland. Now we have to wait 2-4 years for a new Division game. Hopefully Division 2 will run the content till then and expand further. Love your content man, you are my number one division news guy. Thank you.

🙏 Thanks very much, I appreciate that greatly! It's been a tough few weeks/months here with Heartland's news and everything else- but hopefully we're only up from here with the DLC on the way, and whatever comes after that!

D3 would be a good dlc game considering they need silver creek and Chicago too so going to these different city’s and towns would be good tie in in my opinion

I think the lab is all gonna tie in with the bio-reactor and antivirals. Black tusk wants to appear like the good guys and a “cure” would easily help them do that. This lab possibly could be researching a cure or have notes on viral strains or lodes. Also black tusk seems to be using Hunters as elite shock troops/recon more than actually hunting agents so having one secure vital data would make sense.

They actually swapped out her voice actor, it's no longer Katee Sackhoff for these new Descent Comms

My personal feeling regarding Heartland, Ubi's treatment of the Division franchise as a whole, as well as some other questionable choices in other Ubi franchises (Breakpoint's initial looter-shooter state, for example), is that if it doesn't have the words "Assassin's Creed" in the title, it's going to be treated badly or bastardized. Of course, their choices with AC leave me scratching my head now and then as well. Ubi has made so many ridiculous changes to their IPs over the past 5-6 years that I feel they don't actually even know what they want for their games anymore, and forgotten what made them successful in the first place. Of all the bigger publishers, they seem the absolute most disconnected from their player base.

Maybe Div3 will use that stuff canx from heartland

Im disappointed it was cancelled only because it was new content, vastly new in a complete new area. I was interested even though I dont think the game would have been for me in the long run. But I still would have liked to have tried it.

That's definitely one of the saddest elements for me. We're so starved for new areas/content to explore, and yet this entirely new region/experience for the game's world will never release 😭

man i know im on some big cope but i hope they somehow salvage some of heartland by putting it in div 2 like the decent mode. just have us fly over to silver creek and have a little striped down version as a new pvp gamemode.

Depends on what kind of news you mean. News that they're officially in production on it? Could happen anytime in the next few months. But as far as news on what the game will contain, or be about, I wouldn't expect anything for at least 2 years

Third.. Seriously though. Why redact anything? Just cause Heartland is dead (can't believe I'm admitting to that. 😢 ) doesn't mean the lore is...doesn't mean that Silver Creek has to be. It and it's story could, can, still be told without having to mention the title it should have been derived from. Mean, maybe just maybe, the scripts for these comms were purposely recorded with the redactions to not give too many spoilers for when HL (ya know, just enough to tease and make you wanna play HL - god, I still wanna) released? Or that these recordings were going to be stepping stones that evolved with more info as the comms released and , probably, culminated with HL's release...? Perhaps the redactions weren't added post-cancelation? My endgame hope for all this is this: Hopefully the massive (pun intended) chuck of what was HL will become TD3. Bulk of the story, settings, mechanics, maps, ect...ect... will be our next iteration. Right now, I'm (probably) lying to myself, saying that HL as a *spinoff* was axed...so it could/would/should be the next PROPER chapter of The Division franchise. [...stop making great vids, RG...I'll stop spamming your comm field with mini-novels. lmao]

My guess, given we still never got an official notice of cancellation by The Division teams or accounts, is that Ubi wants to pretend like it never existed. So they maybe aren't allowed to "officially" reference anything that was tied to it. Just my thought, though. Appreciate the mini-novels as always, Mav!

@@RogueGold Good point...and that brings up another point of contention I've seen among players; with no "official" cancelation, could it, in some farfetched respect be possible that, it was less truly and forever canceled and more temporarily shelved? (Am fairly confident your answer will be "no" but, call me Pandora and consider this my "hope".)

As long as they keep the servers on til D3, sure, blur them storylines all over the place! Is this a build you've covered somewhere, btw?

One problem with Division 2 is that i complain about more content yet its saturated with game moded i have no drive to play and dont enjoy. Summit, descent, countdown, incursion, raids, expeditions, etc. The bread and butter of division will always be open world. Division always needed an open world coop shared world but never got it. While resurgence had it, its a mobile game. If introduced, an open world Silver Creek with a good number of players with events similar to the public events of destiny and the open world mission of First Descendant would be awesome. Basically a place lush in the resources that are impossible to find in open world drops and exotic components. I mean like dz resources and optimization materials. If possible, the pvp night time cycle would be cool.
