    Another interesting video, thank you for sharing. How thick is the gold leaf?

  • @SilverMeister

    @SilverMeister

    Жыл бұрын

    The thickness of the gold sheet,,, A postcard-sized gold sheet is about 3-4g. That's about the thickness. It is about the thickness of a regular paper. Heating these metals to a temperature between 260~370°C increases the movement of the atoms. When pressure is added, this causes an electron exchange at the surface between the two metals, creating a permanent diffusion bond. This diffusion bond occurs far below the soldering temperature for either metal (Dhein, 2004). Nothing is permanent in this world. It may wear out over time. Physical contact may cause it to peel off. It doesn't go away easily with the passage of time. Because silver and gold became one. This is different from normal plating. Thanks~

    Lovely work! Do you just add the leafgold on top of the silver and heat it up. Or do you use something to fix it before heating it up? Is there a possibility for the silver to oxidize when heating up te ring?

    1) This is dilute sulfuric acid. It is clear like water at first, and turns blue as you use it. Nonferrous metals (gold, silver, copper, aluminum, etc.) are different from general ferrous metals, In each process, it must be pickled. When dealing with silver, mainly sulfuric acid is diluted in water and used. Mix about 10% sulfuric acid and 90% water. When mixing this, it is safe to add sulfuric acid to water. Always keep the diluted acid warm. 50 to 70 degrees Celsius is suitable. By pickling, By removing borax residues and various impurities generated during work It plays a role in ensuring that it is always clean. 2) The thickness of the gold sheet,,, A postcard-sized gold sheet is about 3-4g. O que usei é ouro puro. A espessura da folha de ouro ... Uma folha dourada do tamanho de um cartão postal tem cerca de 3-4g. Isso é sobre a espessura. Tem a espessura de um papel normal. Nada é permanente neste mundo. Ele pode se desgastar com o tempo. O contato físico pode fazer com que descasque. Não desaparece facilmente com o passar do tempo. Porque prata e ouro se tornaram um. Isso é diferente do revestimento normal. Obrigado ~ O aquecimento desses metais a uma temperatura entre 260 ~ 370 ° C aumenta o movimento dos átomos. Quando a pressão é adicionada, isso causa uma troca de elétrons na superfície entre os dois metais, criando um vínculo de difusão permanente. Esta ligação de difusão ocorre muito abaixo a temperatura de soldagem para qualquer um dos metais (Dhein, 2004).

    Pls can someone explain to me what is the purpose of the oil (camellia ? based on old videos) applied at the end, and if it is to protect the ring, how does it works ? I can't find anything about it on google and this is the only jewelry channel that do this (or at least the only one showing it)

  • @SilverMeister

    @SilverMeister

    Camellia oil is vegan oil. The reason for applying oil is to delay and protect the oxidation of the silver surface. A very thin oil film protects the surface. After applying the oil, clean it again to finish. The camellia oil that I use is safe to eat. It is a very good natural oil that is harmless to the human body even when the ring is worn on the hand.

    "Camellia oil" is vegan oil. The reason for applying oil is to delay and protect the oxidation of the silver surface. A very thin oil film protects the surface. This is the part that a lot of people are curious about. hehe Since my work does not have a special finish after completion, As a minimum surface protection, it is often finished by applying natural vegetable oil and wiping it. Although it is not shown in the video, it is sometimes coated with natural beeswax (honeycomb). Beeswax melts easily even at low temperatures (approximately 60-80 degrees) by applying slight heat to it and coating the entire work. What I am aiming for is nature-friendly as it is, You can see it as a minimum protection work.
