I remember me and everyone else thought Sonnen was crazy and delusional but he actually did a lot of what he said he would do. his claims seemed ourageous but he backed them up and gained a lot of fans despite getting tapped. Silva still had that aura of invincibility so chael really became a star after this fight. Sonnen fought like a wolverine and Silva showed he has the heart of a lion. This was a great fight

This was simply a misunderstanding of the rules. Chael thought that if you tapped, you lost that round. So they'd go to the scorecards and Chael would win 4-1 and be the new champ. Had anyone explained to him that tapping stops the bout in its entirely, he would not have tapped.

When we talk about the toughest fighters of all time Anderson silva often gets left out of the conversation this is one of the worst beatings I’ve seen i had it 40-34 heading into the fifth and final round and when I saw him get dropped live i was all but sure we would have a new champion but when the chips were down silva found a way to win truly the greatest of all time

I live about 55 miles south down the interstate from Mr. Sonnen. I remember when this fight happened. I was training hard at this point and the lead up/fight itself made me proud to be living in the same state as Chael. I don't give a shit about the steroids, I'm on steroids too. I don't care about any of that. If you don't get into red tape here and there, then you aren't really trying.
