This is better then WKF, but i think they should let shobu ippon just for team kumite, in individual should be all shobu sanbon and also more time, just like in the finals. Osu. Respect JKA.

Unfortunately, if you are not japanese, you start the kumite at a disadvantage. It is hard to spend a lot of money to cross the ocean to lose like this. It is not fair!!!!

Thanks for your comment, judging in general needs to improve for sure, I also agree, this is not any of the legendary fights...

this is horrible no kicks stances to wide no back fists hands too low. what kind of tournament is this. The is why some people think point karate sucks.

Those people are like top tier shotokan fighters and i dont think you can defeat them cause you dont even know how fast they are.I had a chance to go to world championships and compete against one of the best.They dont need fancy punches like you, for them, good timing and footwork are enough

Like in other sports ( like football or basketball ) defence wins the match. And patience wins the match I would add. Fight is not about spectacle. Its about the essence. I still believe that whenever an attack fails, close distance semi-controlled hits should have been allowed instead of grabbing each other sleeves. This is the only objection I have to point on Traditional Karate. Every encounter should result to something ( a semi wasa-ari point let's say ).

Always a matter to discuss - but like in boxing: to get the title you got to beat the champ well, small difference will not be enough. And they're considered to be the champs :) Judging in general has to improve, we hope one day we'll feel the balance in The Force :)

Wasting time by not attacking for 2 minutes, they should be penalized with keikoku.

In WKF it would be for sure - ippon shobu is a bit more point sensitive. Any mistake can be punished by the opponent immediately, and apart from the final, that can be the end of the match. One ippon and game over (2 ippons in the final), so they think twice before attacking.
