A great Neo- Soul artist who I think you should listen to is Kem. He has a great catalog of great music. Some great songs to listen to are I Can’t Stop Loving You, Heaven, Love Calls, Find You way, Share My life or Nobody. Any of those songs are GREAT introductions to his music

Lil G is probably the most technically gifted singer of any male vocal group singer of the last 30 years. He has sick range and insane control of his instrument. Kind of on the mastery level of Tevin, Rahsaan, Jaheim, Brian McKnight, Tank and Stokley. Silk has 3 lead singers. The other two are John-John and Gary "Big G" Glenn, the latter of which is a deeply underappreciated singer. Silk really didn't want to do this song because all of them came out of church. The lead vocalist was a church choir director. Keith Sweat wrote and pushed them to do the song which was their breakout hit. Pull up their story on BET'S UNSUNG if you are interested in their story.

I remember this playing on the radio, I new it was nasty but it sounded so good!

I've been waiting for Jack's reaction to Silk "Meeting In My Bedroom". Talk about sangin'. I think it'll be coming soon now.

You should also review Lose Control by them. That is my favorite cut from them. The lead singer, Gary Jenkins, is a HBCU graduate(Tennessee State University), which is also my alma mater. I met him and got an autograph from him, but I have no idea what I did with it! Lol!

They were produced by another sort of new jack artist named Kieth Sweat. You can hear his voice in the background vocals. He wasn’t that great a singer but had several hits. He wanted a group that didn’t sound like Boys To Men or Jodeci, so Silk was a Kieth Sweat project. Of course it would t be no easy task tryin to sound like Boyz cause them brothas was trained like, technically. They could sing straight up classical if they wanted to. But all those groups had a relatively baby maker song: Jodeci - Come & Talk To Me; Boys to Men - Uhh Ahh; Shai - If I Ever Fall In Love. Still relevant at that point was New Edition - Can You Stand The Rain. Then solo artists came back, like Johnny Gill - My My My; Joe - I Wanna Know, & All The Things Your Man Won’t Do.

This song right here will forever be another favorite of mine!
