Silent Planet’s Garrett Russell claims, “We see a lot of cultural misogyny in music, certainly in heavy music. Women in heavy music are caught in a binary - they are either written as a ‘good’ moral, ideal woman or a ‘bad’ sinful, tempting woman - but almost never written from their own perspective. What links all of the women in our songs is that they ultimately have to make difficult decisions under the systemic oppression of their coercive ruling forces. Forces which include government, authority figures and the society they live in.” To further expand on the album’s details, Russell has cited sources at the bottom of each lyric sheet.
Recorded on March 5, 2015 in Chicago, IL.

Please do a more recent session with them, they’ve improved so much and have put out some insanely good new music!
The drummer of this band is incredible. I really enjoy watching Alex play, right in the pocket. Not sure if people also notice he doesn't rely on a double kick like every other metal band, he plays some sick grooves.

It's not that other metal bands rely on double kicks, the double kicks are just what fit the music in most cases. In this case, the band isn't playing quick chugging breakdown rhythms, therefore there is no need for double kicks.

If you follow Silent Planet in recent years, Alex has actually begun utilizing a left floor tom, which he uses almost like a double kick in a lot of instances. I think it's really interesting still, because it's not a pedal kick, and thus he still doesn't "rely" on that sound. I love how his unique drumming style fits so well in Silent Planet and the way they write their music.

Even moreso now with When The End Began
Also... One thing I will say... As a vocalist... I think their stuff is hard to cover, not because of the vocal style... But to have that raw emotion every single song of your set... Beyond exhausting... But so worth it..
I keep coming back to this video, the amount of talent on the screen is insane. Thank you!
gotta love the drummer's shirt tho
They're so amazing live! I'm glad i had the privilege to have been able to play a few shows with them. they only get better. Hopefully they get the recognition they deserve.
Omfg! The quality, sound system, and precise performance is fucking amazing. Love the interacting in between too. By far the best recordings
Awesome quality of recording. I really love this format!
Just had to say thank you AudioTree for having these guys on and showing me they existed, I bought all of their CDs Long live.
That intro into XX (City Grave)... SO GOOD. Big props to the sound engineers for awesome audio recording!
Really enjoying this, thank you!
I just saw these guys 2 weeks ago and they are amazing live. They're also really nice and I got the chance to hang out and chill with them after the show and it was an experience I'll never forget. Also it would be amazing to have them perform on this channel again.
I still enjoy this video from time to time 🫡💜
Damn, the sound overall is great but the drums sound especially awesome! Great punch in the snare and the toms, and it's not a bad thing that the drummer is really good as well.
Just heard these guys the other day and instantly became a fan. Imma need some merch no joke I hope they restock for their bundles soon.
They need to be on again! They got so many great new songs.
Best band ever even tho Garret was kind of sick on this day and his voice was not at his best. Can't wait for Everything Was Sound. Be consumed.

Anyone know what kind of pedal/effect is used to create the sound at 24:20 ? Thanks!
We need another one of these since they've improved.
THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD
Amazing band. It sounds like a mix of Northlane and Imminence to me, I really like that.
Anyone know the guitars they're using here? one looks to be the RGA121 but cannot figure out the other sunburst looking one the other guitarist is playing, the headstock is throwing me off

Don't worry about what exact pedals or gear a band uses, just use what you have. Pretty sure you've gotten better over the year!
My buddy Igor looking fly. Wish he was still in the band.

after a month of listening and paying close attention to the band that "more than solid" sounds like an insult!
Would anyone know what brand and model bass that dude is playing and is it possible to find out if he has it tuned top string E or top string B? Thanks.

It looks like Fender Mustang Bass and I believe they tune to A# but I'm not too sure? But yeah it's tuned way down.
@jayechristian9697

I met thomas recently he does play with the E string tuned to A# he told us that stringing the bottom with a low B from a 5 string was too thick it "killed the tone"
Keep rocking please🙏🙏
Damn this is good. Has a Misery Signals and Remembering Never feel. Fucking love this!
That's a refreshing style, sound pretty different from the rest \m/
I got to opptuintiy to see Silent planet this year with Thornhill, Aviana and Johnny Booth this year so good.
