I finished the game with the bad ending and I was like "Hell no, that ain't gonna finish like this" So I replayed on hard and finished with Good ending +

I was on track to get the worst ending but I was almost all out of ammo at the Cybil boss fight so I had to reset the whole game. Got this ending so I guess it was worth it.

Fun Fact: If you beat the game and get this ending, the opening FMV changes, in the scene where Harry finds Cheryl, Cybil will be there instead of his wife Jodie. It's such a cool small detail and imo really plays into the theme of rebirth from this ending and feels like the game went full circle, with Harry now being able to start over with a new child with Cybil right there for support, it's beautiful. And as much as I love Silent Hill 3, I kind of wish this was how the game ended in the series canon.

Oh My God! the moment when Lisa Drags Kaufman with her 8:25 it's epic, give the player a scary satisfaction of justice for Lisa Garland. I dare to say this is the most scary Sillent Hill of all.

I freaking love Kaufman in this ending. Hah! You're easy!

I wonder if Cybil helped Harry raise Cheryl (later known as Heather) in the time between the end of Silent Hill and the beginning of Silent Hill 3

It's canon that cybil turned to zombie and died (normal ending). Cybil was never mentioned anywhere else after that, and in SH3 the credit theme, "hometown", which the lyric basically describes the life of harry mason after SH1 event said that he "walks all alone" when raising heather.

I finally got this ending! It's actually very nice to have the good (Canon) ending after you beat the game a lot of times It gives this good feeling.. More video games should do that Plus the song is so touching and beautiful 😭

​@@Shinobi5 1:.in the hospital, before you enter the nightmare, grab a bottle from the kitchen on the first floor, and fill it with the misterious liquid from the nightmare hospital director's office, in the amusement park, get in front of cibyl and throw I at her. 2: at the sh resort save Kaufman at The bar, pick up his stuff, put the code from the recipt into the Indian runner number lock, check the wall near the safe for another code, input it into the side of the motel get the magnet from the office, get into room 3, move the cabinet, use the magnet in the hole, and finally use that key in the motorbike in the garage, a short cutscene will play, and that will make Kauffman show up at the end I know this was probably all in vain sin u either moved on from silent hill or already looked up a guide but idgaff

This ending Made me sad when Alessa give birth to Heather and then she died because of the music from heaven :"(

Oh my friggin' god the narrative pacing of these cutscenes is painfully slow. Did you guys know that the original PlayStation release streamed all the lines of dialogue as Audio CD tracks? That's why it took so long for any scene to progress from line to line! It's not an artistic choice, it was a technical issue.

The pacing and direction of the cutscenes and story in 2 was definitely one of the biggest improvements over 1 IMO, though I still think 1's story is better than some people give it credit for

I watched this because I softlocked myself at the final boss and I was headed toward the bad ending anyway, this ending makes me feel good but I kinda wish I went and did this ending

@@RuminInLove maybe they didn't have enough ammo going in but didn't know about the trick where you empty all your ammo in Alessa's room? Which really could lead to a softlock if they were playing on an emulator and used a save state in the final boss room.

I've played through SH a few times now and I don't think I've ever remembered to get the Good ending (at least, I generally don't remember until it's too far to go back), so I'm always stuck watching it here when I get the bad ending lol

I don’t really care what silent hill homecoming says, this is the canon ending of SH1. I liked Cybil. The post team silent games retcon everything anyway.

Eh, Homecoming still leaves it up in the air. To that game, she could have died in SH1, or survived and gotten captured by the cult. They even say "no one knows" what happened to her.

Freaking same. Played this so i can play SH3 after. Multiple endings are cool and all, but at least make the Canon ending obvious to achieve. I loved my playthrough, but the bad ending was just so jarring and unexpected. We should have looked up how to get the good ending before playing lol

Homecoming has its strengths. I still think it's a nice looking game with some pretty unique effects, & good atmosphere and monster design (imo).

I just beat the game for the first time with this ending. I was already made aware that there were multiple endings so I made damn sure I got it but it was 100% worth it. The heavenly ambiance when the incubator gave Harry the baby plus the fact that my two favorite characters had a happy ending made it 100% worth it

Just beat the game for the first time with this ending. I played every other classic SH twice over but never this one because the graphics, but honesty it’s pretty great. Frustrating puzzles, but that’s expected considering the next 3 games in the series

What IS silent hill? Is the town he's tunning around a real place? Or is that alternate world #1 and the "otherworld" is alternate world #2? Allessa is real and alive? Or a ghost? Was lisa a ghost? Explain it to me like im 3 please.

Silent Hill is a real place. The "otherworld" is debatably a real or metaphysical place, it's up to interpretation. Alessa is real. Lisa is debatably real or a figment of Silent Hill, that is also interpretable.

If otherworldly is a manifestation and isn't tangible then what? Harry's just passing out when he transitions? Laying on the ground for monsters to come munch on him? I want to like this game so much but I'm so confused by it

@@raphaelturtle4146 It's a real place with real monsters, though that reality appears to change depending on the person and circumstances. To some it just looks like a normal town. The monsters may not exist to a child who has a pure heart, for example.

I was wrong, developers didn't spicfy if cybil lives or dies, and cybil wasn't mentioned in silent hill 3, but In silent hill play novel (even tho It has no caloration to the main story whatsoever) when harry picks up newborn cheryl cybil was supposed to burning and harry had the choice to either mercy kill her or leave her, that's why I said It's canon, also some developers agree about her being dead like Masahiro, "Yes, I remember Cybil is dead." However, Toyama considers the "Good+" ending to be "a true ending. Other developers say "It's Up to you whether the good or good+ to be canon".

Lisa is sorta too far gone at this point. She wouldn't be able to leave the otherworld as easily as Harry or Cybil, or maybe she wouldn't be able to leave at all.
