The latest trailer, made by me, using a version of Theme of Laura by Akira Yamaoka and Gnilp, a guitar player peer from YT. I thought the trailer was slightly tone-deaf with its theatricality and I tried to do a more classic Silent Hill 2 take on it. If I had more clips, I could have done a longer trailer, but I had to cleverly end it on a certain dramatic note rather than finish the entire song. Maybe I'll do a longer one when more footage is released.

I remember I heard this in the strangest way possible. Back in the days of MSN, I had MSN plus and it came with random sounds you could send to people and a midi version of this popped up and even at that I was like "What - is - that - song 😍?". I already played Silent Hill one with my brother and seen some of 2 as a kid but when I realised it came from that game I had to see what it was about. I'm so happy i did because today, at 30, Silent Hill 2 is my favourite game of all time and it's so dear to my heart. This remake news literally hit me like a hurricane 😂

Pretty good chance that they actually make a trailer with theme of Laura. That was just the announcement trailer.

I love this song so much, It's filled with so much sadness and melancholy but its sense of warmth is so incredible, it provides so much emotional closure, you can just listen to it and know that the worst is over now, yet keeping the intrigue of what's to come, that sheer curiosity that drives you to go on living just to see how things will change, for better or worse...yet hoping for the best, hope is the word

Akira himself said that he composed it in a way where it combines a sad melody with a strong beat. It was meant to convey the melancholy of silent hill. So you're not too far off there!

The first guitar sounds bluesy and somber, then the 2nd guitar comes in with the sweet lick followed by the third that sounds so full of panic and anxiety, through the interlude so emotional... Silent Hill is one the greatest horror franchises of all time only surpassed by it's beautiful soundtrack

Absolutely agree, nothing he composed before or since can hold a candle to Theme of Laura, probably Room of Angel from SH4 is the closest one that can even compete

I've always liked Promise more than Theme of Laura, I can't wait to hear the new Yamaoka rendition for the remake, this one is amazing too, greatly done!

Well, has been over 20 years and i got goosebumps, thats the only thing i have to say about this song
In the official trailer you can hear other themes from the original game... theme of laura is amazing but they did a good job mixing older themes in the new trailer.
I'd lose my shit even more if the reveal trailer was like this. Those first few sounds of the track are so recognizable, the whole song is just burned into my mind.
This far more nostalgic than the actual trailer, and the music it's beautiful as always, Akira Yamaoka is a genius, thank u! :,)

How can you craft something so simple to play on a guitar and yet so damn beautifully nostalgic, emotional, romantic, depressing and lovable at the same time? You have to be born to do such a thing. This tune is out of this world...Without this theme Silent Hill wouldn't be what it is today just like my soul.

I love this song! Takes me back to when i was 14 years old, me and my best friend played this game over and over again on the summer vacation. Such a masterpiece. This remake is going to be sick!
Sensational! Its like a modern twist on the original rendition, but remains truthful to the oroginal version. Absolutely love this song.

I think this may be my favourite version of Theme of Laura I’ve heard, simply because of the slight higher pitch. I do hope there’ll be a full version of this in time.
