    Has someone checked, if this nice gadget is the Campingaz Kocher Camping Micro Plus ? Sparrix, could you give us the dimensions of the gas burner (silencer), you are using? Thanks a lot!

    Wow, very nice! Looks like mine. Maybe someone can check the exact measures of the micro plus out...in a hardware store? Width of my silencer is 4,25 centimeters and height is 3,3 centimers

    did you compare the power with and without silencer? E.g. by boiling 1L of water?

    With the Silencer, its exactly like a normal gas burner. I didnt compare the time, but you can look at many other test around the web. It also depends on what cooking pot you have and what type of metal its made of. I have one normal pot made of stainless steel and a flat bottom, and one made of aluminium with a heat exchanger at the bottom (Optimus Terra Xpress HE). At the Optimus its much faster.

    Of course, without Silencer there is much more Power. and you need much more petrol. But the nozzle ist also bigger. You need to change the nozzle to run it without the Silencer as you can see in the Video. I already tried it with the smaller one and it doesnt work right

    Hi Sparrix, I stumbled across your video whilst vainly searching for an affordable silent burner solution for my Omnifuel (1st version) stove. Your idea and demo are awesome! However, I tried to buy one from the guy in Germany and his eBay site will not let me register as a UK resident. It blocks me at the telephone verification stage. I guess they are still hurting over Brexit? Have you seen these burner heads anywhere else? Or, know I can reach your guy in Germany? Cheers, brother...

    The only way i know to contact the seller is via ebay "Kleinanzeigen". To be honest, i dont know if the page is only for Germany, Austria and Switzerland or for other countries too. That aside, i think even if you find a way to contact him, the shipping costs could be high because brexit. Maybe you can look at some outdoor stores or some cheap used Camping Gas burners which have the same essay who fits on the Omnifuel. Note: I dont know exactly why Primus named the Model Omnifuel 2. The only old Model if found is the Primus Multifuel 3. Maybe thats the old model? Or maybe Primus has made "silent" upgrades on his Omnifuel one time

    @@mysony98 Hi Sparrix, Thank you for replying to my question. I've sent an email to a Chinese company that manufactures many types of burner heads. Hopefully, they will be able to match one up to the measurements I send along with some screen capture photos from your video. I tried an image search as well, without any luck! Thanks bud!

    @@tartanrambo Make sure the flames coming out from the burner head are reaching and heating up the brass where the burner head lies inside. And that enough, even if your flamelevel is low. It has to heat up to evaporate the petrol. If not, the flames will start to get yellow and flickering around.

    In my humble opinion, optimus is the worst choice between primus, msr and optimus. Expensive, technical choice not interesting, few parts available.

  • @mysony98

    @mysony98

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@hampuslindvall9181 Because i use the 0,28mm nozzle with the silencer, the petrol-usage is low. Boiling time is a little bit longer. But i tried it at home with a special pot from optimus with a heat exchanger. There the boiling time was fast. But i didnt make a test or a comparison, because the boiling time doesnt matter at all. Without the silencer and the 0,37mm nozzle, its clear that boiling time is very fast. But it costs more petrol.

    Is there much boil time difference?

  • @mysony98

    @mysony98

    2 жыл бұрын

    You can compare it with a normal gas stove. The boil time should be identical. But the boiltime itself depends on many other factors: water temperature, the type of the pot you are using, which Material, does it have a heat exchanger, what nozzle size is used in the cooking stove, does the pot has a lid on it.

    Primus do make a silencer for the less powerful omnilite, but not for the omnifuel & they have good reasons. Messing around like this is at best dangerous tinkering & that's being polite.
