Silenced Backpacking Desolation Wilderness "Zone 44"

Backpacking Desolation Wilderness "Zone 44"
After getting off work early on Friday, I decided last minute to head to Lake Tahoe and go backpacking for one night. I drove to the Placerville Ranger Station hoping to get a walk-in permit, and that's exactly what happened. I ended up getting a permit for one of my favorite areas in Desolation Wilderness, Zone 44!
I arrived at the Pyramid Peak parking lot around 1:30 PM, packed my backpack, and started making my way up to Horsetail Falls. I spent some time at the waterfall before making my way up to Avalanche Lake with the intention of passing it and camping at Ropi Lake. After I arrived at Ropi Lake, I decided to keep going and explore a different lake. I ended up hiking a little more and found Toem Lake. As soon as I arrived, I saw this camping spot and I knew that was it. I spent an amazing night watching the stars and the Milky Way.
The next day, I packed all my stuff and started making my way down. I really think this is one of the best areas in Desolation Wilderness because it's pretty isolated and not too popular. Another thing that I love is the diversity of this place; there's a whole section that is burned, but plants and trees are already starting to grow, making this place unique. Not to mention the waterfalls and the creeks.
I had a great time even though it was extremely windy and I had some problems with the microphone. Not every trip is perfect, and there's always going to be complications. I love how much I get to learn from all these trips and love seeing my progression in every video.
Hope you like it and enjoyed it. See you on the next one!
