Silence in Fasting - Abdal Hakim Murad

Shaykh Abdal Hakim reminds us of the importance of not only stopping what goes into our mouth during this month, but what comes out of it and the wisdom found in guarding one's tongue.
Help us train the next generation of Muslim thinkers.

Beautiful. The message resonates so strongly with me, doing a lot of reading into psychology and human pre-history. How we were designed to tread lightly on the earth and wonder at the signs that were evident all around. And of a surety, everything the Qur'an teaches is about respecting our in-born nature ie needs (fitrah). By losing sight of the nature hard wired into our DNA, we have become creatures entangled in all kinds of psychological complexes. And how true that Ramadan is an opportunity to untangle ourselves by switching off from the unnatural rhythms of life that we now dance to.

@@galeevgeorgiy7408please forgive me because I couldn't really follow your logic. If God takes everyone's life when their time is up, that doesn't mean that we can take everyone's lives because God's going to take their lives eventually anyway!? We are just His creatures and have to operate by different guidelines. I'm Muslim and know many people, especially young people, who are very concerned about the environment. The Qur'an says "And the sky He has raised up and has set up a balance, so do not upset the balance." And Prophet Muhammad taught: "the world is green and beautiful and you have been set as guardians over it." You seem very angry. Why?

@@galeevgeorgiy7408 you're making awful generalisations about entire peoples. That's not really fair. My parents immigrated to Britain. I have spent 20 years saving hundreds of British lives, working in the health service. How many lives have you saved in your country?

@@galeevgeorgiy7408 I'm not sure about your country. But in our country universities are very diverse. Everyone teaches everyone, and their faith background or ancestral ethnicity is not considered relevant. Somehow you imagine that has made things worse? The kind of world you're imagining is not automatically better because it's full of 'locals'. Was there no crime when your country had only locals? But look, I don't see any point in us taking further. You're not going to change your mind, so I just wish you peace and hope you have a happy future. Maybe one day you will encounter a nice immigrant, face to face that might turn your heart :)

@@galeevgeorgiy7408 is this the western world that was 'fine' going to war and killing millions last century and at war again? It's not about white or black, Western or Eastern is just about whether you are a good person. There are good people in all lands, just as there are bad. There are people who make mischief and disorder and those who try to help sort out the mess. And you won't tell who is who, just by the colour is their eyes! I wish you peace.

Was everything fine for the Jewish people back then? Which western side was right? The western allies? The Nazis or the Soviets? Who was utterly destroying Europe then? Was it your 'bad Muslims'? And are you saying Jewish people also have no place in Europe because of Judaism? I love these beautiful talks given from Sheikh Abdul Karim's study, they have a more intimate, quiet feeling that is cosy and comforting. They're a refreshing change from the more formal minbar khutbahs or academic lectures. I come back to them time and time again and always learn something and am inspired. May Allah bless and reward Sheikh Abdul Karim.

What a profound teaching in a small speech from Mr. Abdul hakkem Murad.I TAPED THE FOLLOWING FROM THIS SPEECH.👉🏿👉🏿👉🏿Take care of two things which will lead to a big Spritual transformation, one take care what goes in through the mouth & what comes out of it. ( what you eat, & what you speak = eat halal and little. Speak only truth, keeping silence as far as possible.)

Thank you Allah, our merciful Lord For the gracious gift of Ramadan Month of patience, peace and joy Relieved from intrusion of the accursed Experiencing the plight of the destitute O beloved Ramadan, with a heavy heart We bid you once more farewell... And Hope we live to welcome you again How strange we humans are, Ramadan! Deeply saddened on your departure Equally eager to welcome Eid But tis not time to waste, my child As in this month we have been trained For do you hear the distance caller Beckoning for the task awaiting? And until you finally reach Allah To continue strife and sacrifice As father Ibraheem and mother Haajarr لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ لاَشَرِيْكَ لَكَ “Here I am, O Lord, here I am You indeed have no partner, here I am. Azeezi murad I don't know whether you read these comments or not out of intrigue or study but I'm typing with the thought that you do and although this may be cliche to you but as a student of knowledge I can't help saying that if there was any scholar in this small island of ours who I would give the honour of calling a teacher and sitting in front of with humility it would be you Mr Winters oh and the thought of how it would have been having you as my secondary school history/English/humanities teacher just blows my mind. Allah bless you and your family and by the way loved the hymn singing is there any more to come? And wouldn't it be lovely to have some songs of praise written which are theologically correct which both christian Muslim children could sing in the classrooms of this country.....maybe a competition blue peter like to have people send in hymns and songs of praise and then choose best ones or edit them with permission of course and incorporated into schools where heads of school are willing to participate. My penny thought. Once again Allah bless you and pray for me also that Allah makes my visit to your establishment easy one day.

If it was only the use of mobile that is getting in the way of 3ibadah and khushoo3 during ramadan but also kids and teenagers not even praying but just chatting and laughing loud . For many they find justification in the hadith which mentions our beloved Prophet 3alayhi salat wa Salam bringing his grand kids . When you can't even hear the quran being recited or know if the imam is in rujoo3 or sajdah then I don't get how you can justify the level of noise , when non Muslim neighbours complain, do you think our beloved Prophet would be proud of this ummah that doesn't respect quran, prayers, Muslims and non Muslims just so that we can please kids and teenagers ? If u want your kids to play and teenagers to get together then why don't u take them out to play in a play area or for bowling. The masjid is first and foremost a place of worship and some now are being forced to stay at home instead of praying at the mosque just to please those who want to chat and play . What a shame !

The sub-title threw me off a bit. I am least affected by careless outbursts. But in this Ramadan, I have tried to restrain myself from retort but I failed. For two years after the property next to my home was sealed by the City Council for gross violations that included 34,000 freight containers plying my housing estate, I have been the target of gangsterism. The payback has been hooliganism by Muslim youths on motorcycles thundering from Maghrib until Sahur.Myanmar Muslims and Malays burning fireworks outside my window. Hazardous trailers making U-turns in front of my gate every other night. I have to respond to the injustices. They have a malicious intent, almost criminal-minded. I simply cannot keep silent. In ALLAH SWT and Prophet Muhammad PBUH I Trust. Big Business sponsors pyrotechnics, fireworks and explosives every night. May ALLAH hear my plea.
