Silage 2015, using cranes to forward bales with Valtra.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Silage harvest showing machine chain from baler to stacking.
Organic 1st silage cut for beef cattle. John Deere*New Holland Baler, followed by Valtra/valmet 6400 * Moheda 12t 4wd custom forwarder and Valtra XM 150 custom * Cranab 9,3 m fowarder crane w. G25 gapple & jake adaptor pulling truck trailer to Stationary wrapper@farm, w loader/stacker.
Truck trailer takes max 30, self on-/off loaded when on long transports. As rear can be loaded/reached when turning xm150 sharply. Video shows short transports.
Check out other video of cutting with Valtra xm150 in reverse and Pöttinger 8600 ED, 9 m. mower-conditioner, showing the agility of steering with both articulated frame and front wheels. Here: • Poettinger 8600 ed Val... Now this steering is available without customization in the brand new Valtra XN 163.
Silage is raked day 2 with Pöttinger 881A twin rotor center swath, not showed, but good match to that mower-conditioner, and baled day 3.
Greetings from, Skövde, Sweden!
Techniques showed here are invented for forestry CTL, Cut to length method. And the Valtras used to forward in this movie are used mostly off field in forest to cut, delimb and forward trees. These are effective logistic solutions.
Thanks to Mattias Malmgren for photo and editing.

Enda: Thank You! Canvids1: No. But I guess using these machines in forest and on rare occasions (2*3 / 365 days) also use them to make silage and even less often (1 / 365 days) bring the round bales of straw home helps to bring machine costs down compared to using specialised equipment that can not harvest trees. I cross my fields with tractors less than half as often nowadays (comparison with earlier days) when cutting 9m (instead of 2.8), using double rotor center swath to group 9 m (used to do no swathing) and loading big (small) loads by my self with crane (rather than hiring a 2nd driver with loader). One should try to have a chain that is efficient in every link, I guess. Spreading the grass to dry with mower and then swathing it means I need not burn diesel transporting water which also helps efficiency. By The way: 8 layers of plastic, no additives. Losses to mold, rats, birds etcetera is less than 1%. I feed cows once a week with ~30 bales, so that I can do other stuff. They rip them apart themselves and silage stays fresh a week in The cold half of The year here.
