SIL CALCULATION EXAMPLES:
What is SIL?
SIL, or Safety Integrated Level, is a metric used to measure the overall safety of a system. This metric is often used in industrial settings to measure the risk level associated with a particular process or system. SIL is based on the probability of failure and the consequences of such failure. The higher the SIL rating, the higher the safety of the system.
SIL, or Safety Integrated Level, is a risk assessment metric used to measure the overall safety of a system. It is a method of assessing the risk associated with a particular process or system in an industrial setting. SIL is based on the probability of failure and the consequences of such failure. The SIL rating is a numeric value that is based on the probability of a failure and the severity of the consequences of that failure. The higher the SIL rating, the higher the safety of the system. The most common SIL rating is SIL3, which is the highest rating and means the system has a very low probability of failure and the consequences of a failure would be minimal.

IEC 61511 requires that uncertainty in reliability data shall be taken into account in the calculations. How do you determine uncertainty intervals and how do you include them in your calculations?

Could you explain please why the motor starter is not included in the example at 10:30? You have 6.82 FIT for the safety relay. What would you suggest for the motor starter itself? I'm wondering whether you might ne relying on diagnostics and/or fault exclusion techniques.

Hello, check the calculation of 1oo1 configuration. please note that PFD avg formula = Lamda [DU] x Ti/2 . but please note that T/2 is not used in the calculation at timing of the video [12:07]. only the Lamda x 8760. NOT DIVIDED by 2.

0.488x10^-3 less than 0.001 then it is SIL 3 not SIL 2
