Sigurd Olson's Listening Point
This short film features the first chapter of "Listening Point" by Sigurd F. Olson, narrated by Douglas Wood.
Founded in 1998, Listening Point Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Listening Point and advancing Sigurd Olson's wilderness philosophy.
Sigurd Olson created Listening Point in 1956 as a private retreat near his home in Ely, Minnesota. It became widely known and celebrated after Alfred Knopf published Olson’s book, "Listening Point" in 1958.

Fabulous film that cut to the essence of Sig and how wilderness spoke to his soul. His books talked to *my* soul and saved my sanity on many business trips which took me away from Minnesota. Reading his books brought me to northern MN and I could visualize it! Also, I’ve been to Listening Point, took photos, and I must say that your film conveyed the peace, serenity and beauty I actually experienced there though couldn’t fly around so your drone footage was new! ;-)
