Their short lifespan is why I don’t keep hamsters and fancy rats. It’ll be too sad when they have to pass away after such short time.

I know I wrote what I did, but with pets and any loved one for that matter, you’ll be looking back and laughing at Dasher’s funny antics for years to come. Me and my family still laugh about some funny things that my childhood pets did decades later, and it’s incredible that our pets give us so much joy and bonding experience long after they’re gone. How I view it, the endless happiness and joy their memories give us outweigh the sadness of losing them. Right now you might be overwhelmed with sorrow, and that’s okay - it’s important to grieve. Sending comforting and healing vibes your way.
