Love these kinds of transitions where the overlying tempo changes but it seems like the underlying tempo stays the same for a bit... Fleshgod Apocalypse does the same thing in "In Aeternum" except the tempo gets faster instead of slower like here. Awesome stuff

I heard Signs of the Swarm for the first time this week and immediately noticed that the drummer wasn't just another uncreative blast beat addict. I can't imagine how many thousands of hours of practice it took to get this good.

The kicks are triggered, and I can bet with 99% confidence that the snare is sample replaced.

Watching people play drums is so much more satisfying than just hearing them.

Yea that part at 3:30 is just super awesome! Groovy and prepping for the breakdown that directly follows.

3:55 to the end is just brilliant. The drumming is brutal, but at the same time technical and perfectly fitting to the ambiance and energy of the breakdown. To top it off, he actually looks like he's beating the hell out of the drums and going hard. All around amazing performance.

2 years later and this still pops up in my recommended. You've come so far in the last 7 or 8 years dude, it's insane. You're a beast, much love.

Excellent drumming, including some really creative writing on the parts themselves... Your left hand action on that snare is out of this world.

Damn this record completely blew me away as a whole and i didnt even realize how great the drums actually are, those alternating blast beats are insane! Hope there's more playthroughs coming!

Had to repeat 3:00 - 3:30 three times. Just to pick up my jaw again and again. Incredible.

That Infant Annihilator hat though!!! I love the playthrough by the way!!! Glad to see the drummers in the industry play their favourites.

@ 3min and 12 seconds is probably the best snare work I've seen by any drummer! Jimmy Pino is a god with his double kicks and how he uses that snare! Give a me something to practice now!! Awesome work Jimmy!

This video is a gem for me. #1, the snare sounds almost identical to the snare used in the 2004 As Blood RUns Black Demo which is a plus for me since they're one of my all time favorite bands. Secondly, everything technical happening from 3:10-3:43 is a masterpiece, including (correct me if I'm wrong), the eighth-note triplets he plays after the blast beat. That gave me chills as it reminds me of the technicality Flo Mounier from Cryptopsy has. This just is incredible. A must share

My Old band is opening for signs of the swarm in Calgary in a few weeks. Left the band due to work and school but we got the show prior. The new drummer and I and huge fans and will be having some brews with the bois in signs. Cya then!

Dude, kid's got some major chops. Very well done. At first I thought it was funny that his drum kit was so small (with the exception of the bass drums). But now I think it's pretty ingenious. Less time spent trying to get back and forth between drums and cymbals, more time to crunch those speed fills in. A thing of beauty, really.

The writing and performance here is unbelievable

I love how your drumming is so familiar as far as genre but so refreshing as far as your creativity. Definitely made it into my top 5 favorite drummers.

This is awesome, the snare ghost notes on the beat starting at 2.25 are just so good. This also sounds better than the original with the levels on the drums being higher. Just accents the music so much better. Very good drummer indeed.

The drummer of Aversions Crown and Signs of the Swarm both use the Joey Jordison Pearl snare I don't blame them for using it it's a good snare I'm not just saying that cause I like Slipknot even though joey was kicked out quite some time back but I've used it before it's impressive. I personally like SJC, Heart Custom Drums and DW for snares

Every fucking time i watch someone good like this on the drums it feels like the first time ive ever seen the shit. It still just blows my fucking mind the skill level of the all limb inclusive multitasking with this guy and many others.

This is why jimmy is one of the best drummers around right now his gravity blast are unreal there not in this song but they are super tight

Holy shit. I've listened to this song SO many times and it was only now I was able to appreciate all the little intricacies going on with the drums. Absolutely AMAZING job.

My new favorite drummer. This is fucking insane. It’s pretty rare to find a deathcore drummer that is not only just fast and brutal, but equally as creative, and the creativity is really shown here.

@Ake hoss Still have to be consistent. Triggers are brutally honest live, you cant hide behind a muddy sound and just hope no one notices. When you fuck up EVERYBODY knows immediately. Consistency is key, don't get it twisted. This guy will still kick the living hell out of a bass drum, though.

What mostly makes me like most deathcore bands is the vocal range of their vocalist but when I first was introduced to Signs of a swarm it was the ABSOLUTELY INSANE drumming that made me fall in love at first sight. KEEP FUCKING DOING THE DAMN THING!!👏🏿
