The film could have been written more carefully so I don’t want to justify it but there is a simple and intuitive explanation for a science fiction enthusiast who observes carefully: These aliens are NOT conquerors, they are raiders, pirates who pass from random planet to planet in search of food and resources only to survive. They don’t wear clothes, don’t have weapons. They are more like animals. I even suspect their ships were stolen maybe from a superior species. Think of them as wolves stealing cars and messing around. They were desperate.

There's a meme that says "when corporate has a pizza party instead of giving bonuses or raises." Followed by the clip of Mel at dinner.
One of my most favorite movies of all time, for so many different reasons. I watch it faithfully every time it's on T.V. and yet I own the DVD. It is superb in my opinion. Great job from every single actor in this movie. Outstanding Movie!!!
Spectacular movie. Spectacular actors. Thank you for sharing. I love Night’s movies ❤
OH my gosh the movie HAD to have this soundtrack.
OMG he puts so much effort in to his movies. He draws it out first on s story board first. No wonder I love his movies.
love movies that take place in one location and are really driven by characters with interesting conflicts. this is a type of movie that just stays with you and you wonder wow what happens after the ending. i remember seeing this in maybe 2005/2006 and my mom telling me about a time she saw a ufo. i watched it again this week on hbo max and 20 years later it stands the test of time as an amazing thriller.
I live in the country, why am I watching this at night, lol.

@@georgiilkov9915 what if they were desperate and simply had to because they were out of resources. that’s the thing about Signs, the reasoning for them attacking is left open to interpretation. I’ve always just assumed that they knew the risks but were desperate enough that they didn’t care and hoped that the humans wouldn’t figure out their weakness and use it against them.

It's about why things happen, and some things happen for a reason. Asthma, water in the glasses, and Merrill's bat all had a purpose in saving the family. And all of these were started years before the aliens came. One of my favorite movies.

i do agree what he says about music in movies,i feel it can be used too much , but its a delicate balance.... it can make or break a scene
Seeing a crop circle in the flesh, absolutely blows you away....there's no way someone or somepeople with a plank and a piece of string can accomplish overnight, and the precise geometry......

I may have thought like you but this I think you are downplaying man's ability. Now the ability to do crop circles in the speed that happens that's humanly impossible
For those disappointed in this move, there is a video on youtube saying this movie is better if you perceive the creatures as demons instead of space aliens.

I think Signs is an excellent movie just as it is! Were a large number of people supposedly disappointed? I mean more than the usual number who just can't appreciate anything until it's gone...
Brilliant
Sixth Sense, Signs, and ESPECIALLY Unbreakable...Shyamalan truly was one of the Gods of Cinema for a few years.

This guy is genius, the tension he escalated in this movie is unmatched 🫡
It's a shame Shyamalan's movies kinda went off the deep end in terms of silliness. He clearly knew what he was doing at a certain point and would probably be widely respected if Lady in The Water, The Happening, etc. didn't happen.
