"Signs Cheques for Ukraine But" Russia Mocks Biden Gaffes, NATO Allies Defend "Slips of the Tongue"
Russia's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman jokingly called US President Joe Biden "a pro-Russian candidate being controlled by the Kremlin". This was after Biden misspoke and introduced Ukraine's leader as "President Putin" before correcting himself. Biden’s gaffes at the NATO summit in Washington also featured prominently on news bulletins in Russia. TV channel Rossiya1 called Biden's mistake when he addressed Ukrainian president as "President Putin" a “farce” and “theatre of absurd”. However, Biden’s counterparts came to his defence, calling the gaffes as “slip of the tongue.” Watch the video to find out more.
