Thanks to Atharva Bhai, we were exposed to Khizar Silk estate and Banarasa Saree artwork. Predominantly, my household being from Karnataka and Maharastra area, we have been buying Kanjivaram/Paithani sarees. Mansoor bhai really has taken a huge risk and a brave step in bringing out the truth about the Banarasa weaving. I am from Bangalore..i love plain khatan silk with typical banarasi border...i came to Banaras but couldn't find a good pure silk shop or weavers...here i have found my choice... Just wow collection.. Khatan Georgette...we Bangaloriens love pure silk Georgettes with banarasi border..but unfortunately the next next generation ( grand daughters) not interested in wearing sarees because..they are working in London....😢 There is no one to wear my beautiful sarees

My mother has a few banarasis in her collection of sarees; she got married in one as well. For as long as I can remember, I've always been obsessed with them. Even when I could not carry the weight of those sarees as a kid, I remember running towards the cupboard everytime my mom would open it, just so I could see and touch those sarees. Now in my early 20s I've started building my own little collection of sarees (I try to find every excuse to wear them) and hope I'd be able to add numerous banarasis to it. I agree wearing and carrying a saree often becomes hectic for our generation in the lifestyle we lead but don't worry some of us are still just as obsessed with them as you are❤️
