Signal Setup | Episode 4
Ғылым және технология
In this traffic signal video, I show a new signal that I have added to my backyard setup. I also have made a few minor changes to the existing setup. Thanks for watching!

I really like that traffic light! It looks straight out of the 70's!
Great job on your display! Love the intersection mock up, I have done similar in my basement.

Thank you very much! I really appreciate it. I’ve watched some of your basement setups for a few years now. It’s always awesome to see what you’ve worked on!
Looks great! I Love the traffic lights outdoor Setup I wish I could use it as my traffic Yard
Awesome video! Traffic signals are really cool. I have always had and interest in traffic signals and railroad crossings. My favorite signal was probably the LFE signal. I love the traditional signals like that and Im excited to see new signals in the future. Keep up the good work!

I am glad I am not the only one that has a love for those. Mine are in storage right now, unfortunately. I can't wait until I am in a position to take them out again and display them.

Thank you!
Nice setup. You did a great job restoring that signal Kudos.
The outdoor setup looks great, keep it up!
Love your setup, can't wait to see the new controller!
New ideas to consider add a little railroad crossing or add a signal button that activates the crosswalk system
@ExitSign250

I’ve consider a crosswalk button, and actually I have one. I’ll just need to make a new controller that is able to have a button on the system. As for a railroad crossing signal, I’ve also always wanted one. Unfortunately they seem to be very expensive and quite large. Maybe one day in the future!

I have been interested in railroad crossing and they are very cool as well as traffic signals especially the incandescent lights that fade away when u move

I agree. Unfortunately they are becoming less common since most are being upgraded to LED.

Its so true how they didn't stay with that design for lights
I love your setup! I was wondering where you get your metal I guess poles from! I’ve looked everywhere

Thanks! You can find them at most hardware stores. However I order mine from an online construction supply site.
Nice! It has been a while you posted these

So Cool!!! Do you keep them on all day and night?

Thanks! I usually only run them if I’m in the backyard or I just want to see them in action.

I’m actually not sure! Believe it or not I’ve never had any neighbors comment or ask about my backyard signals.
There’s a guy on eBay that sells miniature sized traffic lights
Wow
Do they have the feature where you can honk a car horn and the light changes?
@ExitSign250

They don’t, and I’ve never heard of such feature before.

@@ExitSign250 in some places the traffic lights have that feature, a family member told me about it since they used to work as a truck driver.

Interesting. That must be a special application.
Why do you have led bulbs, incandescent is better Anyways amazing setup
@ExitSign250

Thanks! LED is far superior to incandescent. But I’m guessing you like incandescent bulbs for the appearance of their light output. I prefer LED’s for the low current draw and the longer life. I’ve chosen LED bulbs that closely resemble incandescent.

I really like the fading too! The LED bulbs I use have a fade effect, it’s just harder to see on camera.

@@ExitSign250 Thats awesome. Ever interested in taking real traffic control PLCs and trying to make them work? Like you do with your fire control panels. I would love to see exploring traffic control electronics.

As much as I’d like to do that, I don’t don’t the room or the budget to get one of those up and running. But maybe one day in the future.

@@ExitSign250hi love the set up! Can you release the softwire for just the two traffic signals I am rely interested in doing it my self and I don't know much about coding. if you cant its ok.
Bro the green light looks blue
You said 4 years ago that you like a combination of yellow and black signals so now you don't like the combination anymore. Why 🤔🤔 8:42

I do like the combination of the yellow pedestrian signal body with a black door, and I didn’t say I disliked them in this video. I just do not like the bright yellow on the signal body. I’d like to find a dark yellow paint.
