Today in this video, I am going to Discuss about Sigmund Freud's Psychosexual Development Theory. In this theory, Freud proposed that personality development in childhood takes place during five psychosexual stages. Each one is characterized by a specific kind of conflict and an erogenous zone. Freud thought that individuals could experience overindulgence, frustration, or both during one or more stages. In this session, will learn about it in detail. Smoking can sometimes be seen as a substitute for oral gratification. The act of smoking may provide a sense of comfort or temporary relief, similar to the comfort an infant derives from sucking on a pacifier or thumb. (Please note : Psychoanalytic theories like Freud's are controversial and not universally accepted in contemporary psychology. Interpretations can vary.)
