It is the greatest lens for Sony APS-C, absolutely no doubt! I've been using it for more than four years now and it actually gets better every day! I'd say it isn't for beginners due to the focal length, but once one has moved beyond the beginner level, this is the lens to get and to be challenged by!

There is no comparable lens with OSS for Sony APS-C. Closest would probably be the Sony 50mm f1.8 OSS APS-C lens, but it is not on the same level in terms of image quality and style. Just get the Sigma 56mm f1.4, no matter if you have IBIS or not. With f1.4 you don't need OSS/ IBIS neccessarily.

The sigma 16mm f1.4 is an awesome lens too I think you should give it a run

This lens is beautiful and my favourite of all apsc. I wish sigma made a 23mm 1.4

I've just seen they do have a new 23mm 1.4 released a few months ago. A bit pricey but these are the only 2 prime's that I would get if starting again

Sigma 65mm f2 only makes sense if you are planning to switch to full-frame (or use it in parallel on APS-C and FF). If you only have the A6700 then the 56mm f1.4 makes much more sense. Smaller, less expensive and f1.4.

hey do you reocmmand zve10 or a6400? I was thinking of zve10 because of videography but i also like both recording and good photography. But the problem I dont wanna face is overheating issue nor battery life being shorten. I’ve been asking myself the same question and went with the Sigma 56 mm f1.4. Therefore completing the Sigma trio. I have to say, that I don’t regret buying any of these three sigma lenses. They are absolutely amazing, with the 56 mm being my favourite lens so far. 😊

You need to consider what you want to shoot and how you intend to shoot it. Knowing that, then which lens to get isn't even a question. We don't know that info, so any answer you get here is just someone describing their own needs to you.

Two lenses I recommend to anyone now with ASP-C camera is the Sigma 18-50 F2.8 and Sigma 56mm F1.4, One brilliant zoom lens and one brilliant Prime which will do nicely for most shooting scenarios, hope that helps :)

I bought the Sigma 56mm a few months before I bought the Sigma 18-50, which I use as a travel lens. Personally I find it hard to justify owning both lenses as the 18-50 is already a top notch lens with few compromises and lots of quality.

Yes, no, maybe haha 😆 Honestly I think if you have just those two lenses you'd be able to shoot nearly anything and everything. If I was starting out in photography or needed a couple of solid lenses. I'd in most likely hood, chose these!

That’s exactly what I did and couldn’t be happier. It’s such a good combo of lenses and covers everything I need except telephoto. The 18-50mm is even really good at close up macro-style shots! The bokeh of the 56mm though… chef’s kiss.

I'm constantly switching between the 18-50 f2.8mm and the 56mm f1.4. They are Sigma's APS-C masterpieces!

Was my favorite' till I tried the Viltrox 75 1.2

I’ve a feeling that the photos from my 6400 is lacking the color punch. However the similar shots from Nikon z50 got better colors and contrast. How can I get the nice saturation with punchy colors right away? I am a hobbyist and do not want to go into post processing. Can I set a custom picture profile for photos in 6400 Can upgrading to sigma lens fix it

If price is not a problem, DO IT! But if the budget is tight, go for the Sigma 30 mm 1.4 , it gives you similar results and way more versatile, but for sure the 56 is the BEST lens out of the sigma trio!

First lens If you have the budget absolutely! But I'd recommend the sigma 18-50 as a first lens. It's such a versatile Zoom Lens, but that's me personally. Depends on what you need from a lens. But if have the sigma 18-50 and Sigma 56mm you'll be set! 📸

Def… the kit lens cost around 100 usd when you get it w/ the body and you can easily get a Sigma 30mm for 200 usd , GREAT starter, once you are able to get another lens, go for the sigma zoom 18-50 that goes for around 450 usd, and you’ll be set for a goooood time. @@muzammilrasheed2798 That's nonsense. There are many videos on the web that show how good the ZV-E10 is. Yes, you can also vlog well with it. But I use it exclusively for photography and I decided not only against the 6400, but also against the 6600, which by the way also have a crop sensor like the new 6700. Don't be impressed by the chatter and learn to take good photos with it. Just look at what Curtis shoots here for great pictures and the ZV-E10 can do even a little bit better.

Man 85 is my team teammate!

I believe that the Voigtlander 56mm 1.4 SL ll is better but it's just manual unfortunately.

Sounds like a great lens but saying that I think the Sigma is overall the better lens mainly due to the fact it has Autofocus. I have tried manual focusing lenses before, including vintage lenses and a lot of them have a unique look. But for a majority of people paying good money for a lens AF is a must.

@CurtisPadley For the image quality, it definitely is. Voigtlander is basically Carl Zeiss, it's all metal. Do you shoot manual sometimes? If so, please try it out! I've never seen anyone using Voigtlander on a Sony, and I think that would make an interesting video. Cheers!

i think comparing this Sigma to the Tamron, i think Sigma will obviously produce better image quality with better sharpness and bokeh
