I absolutely love Sifu. It's about aquiring skills that take a life time, over the corse of a few hours. Its hard because mastering an Art is punishing. I feel like people thought we were going to get a Bruce Lee Simulator. Badass, power fantasy, breezing through rooms of thugs in an instant. Instead we got a Jackie Chan Simulator. Constantly on your back foot, scrambling for objects and using your surroundings to your advantage. We aren't use to games making us work for our Power Fantasy.

Basically playing an easier version of the game: you're not getting better, you're getting stronger. In games like this, or sekiro for instance, you acquire new skills to use in different situation but your character its always the same, you have to get better in order to win

i was just abt to say that

So to summarize the story for yall, the 5 bosses took something from the Guardians which included your main character's father that gave them the knowledge to help people. When they slit his throat, they didn't realize that the kid was holding the talisman which glow when he/she revived. Main character goes to kill all 5 bosses and ended up regretting what he did after seeing 2 graves (1 his brother and 1 his father) which made him go back through time and redo the bosses again but instead spared them. This was shown after he killed his brother that his father told him "He who has Kung-Fu and Wude, makes the other know he can break him. His hands go out like lightning, and the other doesn't want to fight anymore". After dying and achieving peace, it was shown that in the after credits that the main character has finally became Sifu and the talisman lost 1 coin, which means Yang revived him after his death

I also think it's really cool the way you spare the bosses. I have never seen a game test your ability in self control as good as this game. Trying to prevent your instincts from taking control in a difficult fight turns out to be much more difficult than I thought

The graves are Yang's wife and daughter. That's why Yang's fight ends there. Yang killed his sensei because his sensei let his wife and daughter die and banished him for wanting to save them

I honestly have way more trouble with some of the elite enemy encounters than the bosses at this point due to their delayed moves and random ass sweeps. I went through and spared all the bosses and I can man handle them so hard now.

They all just say 8 years. The death of his Sifu was eight years ago. Its his talisman, the coins on the string, that allow him to age instead of die which is also a lore thing, not just a game mechanic. For everyone else, he is literally dying and getting back up from death a few years older.

I have found that by remapping/swapping the ''LB'' and ''LT'' for Parrying/Avoiding, makes it easier to fight the enemies. This is probably only an improvement to those with big hands.

Charlie’s training with dale clearly paid off since he beat the game 5x faster than every other steamer

This game feels impossible first play and after 3-6 hours fells like you something related to god

I can't believe how much Chinese culture is in this game. Not just the martial arts, but even the villains all represent their respective elements surprisingly well. I don't know everything about Chinese culture or mythology, but for what I do know this game nails it perfectly. Makes me want to get the game even more, as if the gameplay wasn't enough.

I didn't know that you kept your exp and skills when repeating early levels, that just made this game much more easy for me. My first playthrough I just picked the increase on health gain when beating enemies so I was worthless in everything else and this was impossible. After noticing that you preserve everything, it was fairly easy actually. Not "I won't lose a single life" easy, but definitely much more easy

12:53 Fun Strat: You can instakill both of them by throwing super fast (if you have the skill that allows you to instantly throw objects near you) those colored glass bulbs, like shurikens lol

I found it find funny that I use the object enviromental skill to throw all of the coloring light bulbs to those 2 kung fu guys at the museum and died instantly.

Charlie was pretty good and beat the game everyone else i see mostly rage and can barely pass stage 2

Sean is a huge roadblock for most players from what I've seen and experienced, think Fajar was just supposed to set the scene since his fight isnt very difficult

I love how you play as the antagonist at the start of this game to gain knowledge about the backstory on what led to this game

"You got me with a surprise toss" *someone tosses an object and gets him surprised* me: did Charlie just foreshadowed the future?

I felt a lot of validation seeing Charlie beat the Botanist at the same age.

I love how these low levels goons just casually take a full pipe swing to the noggin and keep fighting

This feels weird. I passed the game by mostly parrying and stationary dodge. Never even thought of using the moving dodge much always thought that was a mechanic to get some space cause most characters will track you with the moving dodge. And then I see Charlie's playthrough...

This video is great example why this game is amazing the differance on Charlie skill between first minutes and the last minutes is astonishing this game really improve us in really good matter good jop Sloclap you deserve the success.

i find the sweep attacks the hardest to dodge they always catch me off guard i always expect them to do high attacks.

Imagine fighting someone and as you’re fighting them, they age a lot and go through a whole midlife crisis.

I don’t know why, but I love how he was like “Got me with the surprise bottle” or something like that and than just BOOM, random bottle lol

This game is really fun, but I can't block or deflect for the life of me. Seeing things coming isn't the issue so much as timing everything because I'm either too early or two late.

Charlie really be the most consistent creator out here. Consistently uploading hilarious content every day. Gotta love it

It’s insane to me how hard it seemed for him the first play through and how easy it seemed the second, doing the bosses in a harder fashion

Accidentally started this game on the Hardest difficulty. When I lowered it. The game was so easy. But anyway I could tell he didn't play on the hardest difficulty because the Botanist did not do 40 Leg Sweeps

I actually tested the botanist fight on easy and it turns out he will spam the ever living shit out of his leg sweeps if you only parry him on first phase.

this reminds me a lot of sleeping dogs fighting and everything it's crazy.

I love the artstyle that SloCap have going on for Absolver and Sifu.

Thank you for blowing my mind. I already platinumed this, but it wasn't until you said, "That's your dad!? I thought it was your grandpa!" and "I'm aging really fast!" that I thought, "Maybe that's WHY the dad is so old!" 🤯

The only complaint I have about this game so far is that sometimes the camera placement will mess me up. But for the rest it's really a really great game!

Idk why but I just really love this video. I come back to it every few months

It’s great to come back once every now again to see Charlie play himself before he had a beard, and fight himself in present tense

its fun watching his confidence get broken down into pure frustration

Once you enter the dodge stance and learn the bosses the game starts looking like it’s out of the movies, but also relying on it is a downfall especially against staff boss. Since leg sweeps suck ass but can be parried but also eat your focus

I think the fighting scene where ur in the hallway and the camera changes to the length of the hallway was one of the best video game camera fighting styles I’ve ever played

It's interesting how the game implement element on boss stage fight, if you spare all the boss you get the corresponding element talisman, achievements and secret ending.

The way to beat the Club boss is just to avoid his high attacks. Really you can get through the whole game doing just a bunch of high avoids(holding L1 and flicking down on the analog stick). And the best way to beat the museum boss is to bring a metal bat with you. Since you have the elevator key now just kill the 2 guys in the beginning and take his metal bat up the elevator. Way easier to block her long range attack.

I'm glad Sifu lived up to the expectations

The final boss fight against the eldest is just poetic and genius on the developers part. As we all know Yang is basically us fighting against ourselves. Though I would like to add on by mentioning that we are experiencing what fighting Sifu is like through a random enemy’s perspective.

My biggest complaints I have about Sifu, are the fact that it doesn't give you the payload and cops-out every time you beat a boss by cutting to black, and how if you kill even ONE of the bosses you get slapped with a bad end. I have nothing against Sean, Kuroki or Jinfeng, but I should 100% be allowed to kill Sajar and Yang because Sajar fucking killed me as a child, and YANG ordered him to do it. As for the Father's death, it was obviously wrong, but I don't think Yang deserves DEATH for it. He just deserves death for ordering one of his henchmen to kill a literal child.

I think the game is not about others, but about yourself. That is to say, killing them, after 8 years, won't bring back your father, nor will it bring peace to your soul. Fajar is a crack-addicted, addle-brained lunatic who is quite sick, and Yang takes care of unwell people for a living. If you kill them now, you're killing totally different people than the ones who killed you and your father back then.

The only thing I dislike is the weird & fast animation NPCs use when getting up

I love how you can see how Charlie is getting better and better at the game.

Charlie has a very keen eye, its actually quite immaculate as we can see at 8:35 where an enemy kicks him in the head and he has the eye to point out and show, and I quote, "OOH, THAT WAS AN ATTACK". Very good observation skills.

Every aspect of this game is beautiful, very excited for this video!

i love how you slowly see him become good at the game by the end of the true ending run.

I love how much this game is just really skill based.... nothing like running through a whole level and not getting hit a single time

I love that both Zanny and penguinz were worried that there was a phase 3 when Yang took the talisman

Game hasnt been out for long, but I want a sequel

I just got the game and I aged from 30 to 80 on level two, it’s such a difficult game but it’s so addicting to just keep playing it
