Thanks for watching. It was a lovely place to visit. Another place to consider is Lucca, which was my personal favourite (I made a video about that too)

@@pile333 I miss the food so much! It's so fresh and full of flavour compared to England. Thinking of planning another trip in October. Do you have any recommendations for places to visit via train in a couple of weeks? Next Spring, we're thinking of travelling by car so we can visit places that aren't so easy to get to by train.

@@NicolaExplores In October, I'd say visiting cities of art without the tourist herding (and it's not even school trip time either). Or maybe do something very few tourists do: follow along a river that has nice cycle paths.

Thank you so much ☺️ I’m glad you enjoyed watching and I’d definitely recommend visiting Siena. The train was very reasonably priced and only took about 90 minutes. I made a video about Florence too in case you’d like to watch - I’ve added quite a few unusual things to do and places to eat 😊

@@susanmuthoni5482 oh fantastic, it’s surprising how much you can see in a day if you plan in advance as they’re very walkable once you get there. Hope you have a fantastic time - I made a video about Pisa as well as Florence that you might want to watch. Hope you have a great time. I think October will be a great time to visit weather wise

Nicola, my husband and I are staying in Florence for a few days late September. We are both in our 70s, perfectly mobile but not good with steps or hills. Would Sienna be suitable for us do you think?

@@jackietheobald5545 hi Jackie, most of central Florence is flat - if you cross the river then the parks are on steep hills, but you wouldn’t necessarily have to visit that area to enjoy Florence. Siena is on three hills so not too much is flat. You could consider Lucca too (I have made a video) - it is all flat and contained within a city wall, and less crowded than Florence and Siena. Wherever you choose, it might be worth checking your accommodation as most of ours rooms were on the fourth floor as we booked to stay in apartments and they generally don’t tend to have lifts. If you’re in a hotel, they’ll probably be more likely to have a lift. Hope that helps and hope you have a great time.

Rick Steves Guide for Italy 2022 recommends Bar San Paolo. Is this the "American guy" to which you were referring?

@@etherdog no…not sure of the gentleman’s name. It was someone we were sat across from in a restaurant the night before, and the next day we saw him in Piazza del Campo, and he told us about it. Interesting to hear Rick Steves covered it too! It was a good choice 👍
