The tragedy of the Iron Warriors lies in two main factors. The first is the character of Perturabo who has become more and more introverted because for years he has seen the Eye of Terror. The one time he talked about it, he discovered that on his adopted planet, he was the only one who saw it. From then on, he closed in on himself, becoming more and more bitter. The second is that Perturabo and his Legion were manipulated by Horus who, in the years before the Heresy was declared, sent the Iron Warriors on murderous campaigns. Horus stretched the legion's front line as much as possible, knowing full well that the introverted 18:05 forgave. This is why the Iron Warriors are indomitable and become petty. Loyalist Iron Warrior Dantioch embodies what this Legion could have been.

God I miss watching these videos. Would you consider doing a breakdown of “The Story of Rogal Dorn” by Warrior Tier? He gives a complete background of Dorns story. On another note, I think the Imperial Fists were the body guards to EM for a while before being replaced by the Custodes. Awesome vid man.

Warriortiers Voice acting is on another level his gravitas is nerve rattling… he is my favorite loremaster next to amberking.

The Praeter probably had his orders, to take down Horus at any cost, even though he was the last soldier. Rogal Dorns homeworld, is one of my favorites, also that the space marines that stand in armor are truly brave. 5:25 The chaplain that guy gives the troops spiritual encouragement 11:10

I really hate when they make Dorne look way older than the other primarchs. Most if them are drawn between the ages of thirty to fifty. Dorne ia often given this elderly appearance which makes him less intimidating.

...in another fan made movie about warhammer, they depicted the Apothecary Marine as an old man of about 90 years!!! But if you stop a moment and think about the lore of the game, it is often correct and normal to see and depict Space Marines older than 200 or 300 years!!! And also the Primarchs are older than 10000 years!!! Or am I wrong?

Much love for your work, I can always sense the want to just nerd out on why you love certain factions, shows that level of enjoyment for the universe we all share

I wish they created a AGE OF EMPIRES style game for Warhammer 40k. A RTS of this Universe would be insane

Dawn of War and Total War series are old but gold. Dawn of War is 40k. Total War is Fantasy.

Perturabo decided not to change his legion, He continued to make statistics out of them.

If I remember correctly one of the reasons the Iron Warriors went traitor was they weren't given the respect they felt they had earned. They took on some of the most grueling battles and performed some of the most thankless and unwanted work. and all it got them was more work. They never really got thanks, they never really got glory, and they never really got honored for any of it, but if they failed oh boy were they made to know it. There's a story where the iron warriors, before perturabo ever meets them, are participating in a brutal war, they're given the order to retreat, and they refuse that order, instead pushing on and suffering massive casualties, but they do it, they win the battle, and what do they get for this triumph? scolded and yelled at for not following orders, despite other legions having done the same and being lauded for it. Perturabo didn't help but the problems existed long before he showed up, the iron warriors were basically tasked with the things the other legions just didn't want to do, because they would get it done. When he turned traitor he didn't even have half his legion in attendance because they were off doing guard duty on conquered imperial worlds, because again, no other legion wanted to do it, because there was no honor or glory in being a security guard, so it was handed off to the iron warriors. He and his legion still got no respect when they turned traitor, they probably got less, because Horus, despite Pertuabo being the reason they even got as far as they did, chose to hand over command to a far more incompetent person, and ordered perturabo to send his legion out as an assault team in what would have essentially been a suicide mission, so he gave Horus the finger and left him behind too, before leaving, sending orders to the legions to make them do stupid stuff and suffer massive casualties for it. The Iron Warriors are my favorite traitor legion, mostly because they probably have one of the best and most understandable reasons for turning traitor.

I hear ya, I also hate how they make him ( and his legion ) seem like everything is their fault. As shown, with the Imperial Fist. Connor, love you channel! I like the Imperial Fist, they always stayed true and his legoin was pure of heart and mind. The Imperial Fist , shouldn't be the scapegoat for all the other loyal legion. You agree, but will never will never say it. My # 1 Chapter is actually Black Templars.

7:54 That is an Emperor class battleship, they serve as command centers and dedicated invasion/support vessels by using its strike/landing craft to support invading troops that it carries. With it's powerful sensors, computer system and communication arrays they can coordinate troops and other ships into a coherent force.

hell nooooo, to the no, no, no. helllll to the no. that ship aint 25 miles long homie. thats a strike cruiser at best. did u see how big the thunder hawks and drop pods looked as soon as they left the ship. that things about 2 milesi-sh long at best. emporer class BS's were either the 1st or 2nd largest ship of the line, 1st or 2nd to the gloriana class BS.

I love these videos but my only issue/question is in the beginning shouldn't we hear chant/ candance songs and the Space Marine Chaplain(?) yelling prayers for the emperor, not only for his marines but for all to hear? I understand the argument for in-helmet communications, but that's in the field not here. I would be shocked if they didn't have a speaker setting for their comms.

Yes the 40k universe is great story , and needed some spicy neww conflict but whe split the force of humanity againts itself ? For couple of grown super kids jealousy over their fathers love and the question if their father is real god or not??!! Such great imerium needs "god" to keep the simple masses in check and unity and give them some hope to carry on....

Basically Horus has the choice to die and let the Imperium live on or to accept chaos and promise the galaxy as a prize. His ego was too big to die and the lies of the Emperor were enough justification for him to switch. That being said I think that’s cope, he just didn’t want to die.

@@CounterpointsEh not exactly. He was kinda tricked into thinking the Emperor was gonna replace and or kill off some of his sons and legions, which Horus probably had good reason to believe given the mystery around the 2nd and 11th legions.

But why the thouusands upon thousands other space marines, primarchs and parts of their chapters split againts each other inside and kill brothers just because one egoist ais to scared and proud to die .....How in hell he would convice other Primarchs to join him?! Yes I know each has its own story and reason but its so sad and tragic and at the end chaos split in factions againts each other anyway ,human nature ..... So sad but I guess thats wwhy it is a good story.....

@@mikeszz5 The Word Bearers were already corrupt and spreading corruption to other legions at that point. 3 primarchs already hated the Emperor. The Emperor's children legion were falling to Slaanesh. The Iron Warriors harbored incredible resentment for how they had been treated. Horus was convinced the Emperor was planning to become a god, which ran counter to all that the crusade had been about, and gave him a means to turn the legions against the Emperor. All that said, the traitor legions still had to purge their members that stayed loyal.

@@mikeszz5 a lot of the primarchs actually disliked or hated the emperor in way or another. Hell most of the ones who stayed loyal only really did so because they saw the ruin a civil war would bring upon humanity. I think there were maybe…2 or 3 primarchs not counting Alpharius Omegon who actually made decisions out of loyalty towards the emperor.
