Sidney Poitier and Richard Widmark "No Way Out" (1950)
Фильм және анимация
"No Way Out" (1950) is a black-and-white film noir directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, and starring Richard Widmark, Linda Darnell, Stephen McNally, and Sidney Poitier. "No Way Out" earns its place in the history books thanks to the searing feature film debut of Sidney Poitier, offering a formidable performance as a doctor tending to slum residents whose ethics are tested when confronted with racism, personified by Richard Widmark as the hateful robber Ray Biddle.

I think it a shame that you would censor a movie like this, of all things - by doing so, you affect the drama and impact of the scene.

That's true. Watched it on TV the other night. I'm sure it would have been more dramatic if they hadn't censored it. Good movie though.
Watching This Now! Happy Birthday Sidney!!!

Rest In Eternal Power to Veteran Actor, Producer, Civil Rights Icon and U.S. Army Veteran Sidney Poitier (1927-2022). Your groundbreaking career and commanding presence in film and theater are the stuff of legend. Thanks for the many, many years of cinematic excellence and philanthropy. You will be sadly missed, Sir.
Sidney Poitier is a Doctor wraps everything very neatly
So much fire in his eyes
@3890015420 But he's an actor, and will let you know, within his character, when he has failed or prevailed, or just learned more about life. This movie sealed the lifetime friendship of Sidney Poitier and Richard Widmark. It was quite a remarkable friendship, which had several movies beyond this.

@countrychloe Hi Vicki, Thanx for watching and commenting. :-)) Love you too. HAve a great day when you wake up. (It is 3am here!)
Oh Sydney I enjoyed watching all of your movies. You were such a gentleman.
@IrreplaceableMarilyn Hi Mel. Thanx for watching and commenting. :-)) The only words that I understand in your comment is that you adore Classics. I also know that Excelentes means excellent, but I don't know the meaning of cenas, muitas estrelas or jinhos. Could you translate? Thanx Mel. I am sorry to say I don't know Spanish. I wish I did.
@love70000 Hi, Thanx so much for watching and commenting. :-))
Really good! Thanks for posting!
Great scene of great movie 73 years ahead of its time. At the time I was an infant inspired by this movie to grow up to be a Black man and a doctor. Now old broken finished......I face that same rascism. Over worked underpaid, hospitals don't hire, patients don't pay. Now DR. Poitier's anger is evident.
@IrreplaceableMarilyn Oh, it is Portuguese. :-)) Thanx for translating, Mel Luv you too. :-)) kissinhos
@thecandykissme Thanx Vicki! :-))

He was and is human, too.
@3890015420 His characters often had negative aspects. Which simply made him like everybody.
Smoking in Hospital it is not allowed supposed to be very clean
@valentinolover70 Sweet dreams Angie and thank you. :)
Ffs the man is TALENTED. NOT FUCKING BLACK WHITE PINK OR PURPLE WITH GREEN SPOTS. Richard or people like him , are afraid of people like Sidney. Intimidation, Patronising etc? That scene distraction me for a moment , I stopped typing for a moment there . NOW , that’s acting .
