Hey @dankubin5386 I'm in rhe midts of finding a new non-battery power supply for my sidewinders (v3r, 46er and v6). Would you recommend critical or musotoku power supplies?? Which does better for motor life and performance? Thanks a lot!

…how do I bag it? The others I had were easy to wrap an elastic around the bottom where the clip cord connects but this one is not and I’m in a bit of a bind.

hi mr. Dan we are at the final stages.. this year has been fantastic and magical for my work report and a great credit goes to the support of your creations and skills.. from the #wildcat guys I took the v3r and immediately after the mojobox 2.2 and I find them superlative .... now I have only one final wish .... to take another sidewider .. my thoughts go to the 7.5b .. but I would like to know before spending money which of the two to take the 7.5 or the v46. .. what do you recommend for my style? we do a lot of blackwork and dotwotk and I work a lot of leather in saturation with 49mag using rl from 3 to 18 ... and many magnums ... but I always look for precision both in the line stroke and in the saturation and shading ... mr Dan .. I can you kindly which sidewider is more suitable for me? .. with observance and respect ... luigi

If I were u I'd go for the 7.5 the 46er has the same motor as ur v3r I'd go with the 7.5 just cause u own the mojobox and with those two u can do everything u can set up ur mojobox for ur shading and color with larger mags and u can outline anything or stipple with the v7.5 and the v7.5 can run big mags aswell if u know how to set it up

Hey Dan. Do you think the featherweight models sacrifice the hit or performance of the machine at all?

would you run this at a lower stroke setting for single needle work? and what voltage?

  • @dankubin5386

It depends. Sometimes, I just run the machine slower, like 5 volts. If it still hits too hard, I shorten up the stroke until it feels good. I feel the machine is forgiving enough to not need it super perfect, so I don’t get concerned with needing that magical setting- but, the more you play with the machine, the better you become at quickly getting that perfect hit for whatever task you want to achieve.

Hey Dan, I noticed in your recent videos you no longer put the needle in backwards, do you no longer recommend this with your newer machines? Thanks

I learned that opening up the needlebar loop is the way to reduce/eliminate spitting. I no longer find it next to put the needle on backwards:)

What kubin would you recommend for traditional work (big liners and round shaders, packing solid colour) for a cartridge for user that wants to work with standards and not mess with the machine at all?

The v7 has adjustable spring tension where as the 46er has adjustable stroke. This may not be correct but after some research it looks like the 46er is a little more forgiving and user friendly than the v7
