The yellow on the knife is part of the blood effect, sometimes smeared blood can appear to be yellowish when it starts drying especially on stainless steel The hands are red in the fingers to emphasise how tensed his grip is, if you’re gripping something tightly, especially at a colder time of year like Halloween, your fingers will appear a darker colour than the rest of your hand

The one from trick or treat studios looks more muscular ... I think this is the one that looks best as michael ... the one from trick or treat seems to come from WWE

Idk I just love sideshow head sclupt more than the trick or treat studios head sclupt

I follow you since 6 years or so and the spooky spot is what I wait for all year long!

IMO better than the TOTS one

The figure is good. Worth it for the hardcore fan, but TOTS did it better this round.

excellent video, I agree, maybe the mask I liked only a little compared to the tricky or treat but in general since I saw it a year ago I felt that it looks muscular, that the head was very wide and that the eyes were come strangers, this figure has something strange that despite seeing many defects you want it to have, hahaha maybe it is the cult of michael myers.I WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE UNKNOWN THAT THESE FIGURES ARE MADE BY DESIGNERS AND NOT BY FANS, THAT IS WHY THEY HAVE NEVER MANAGED TO CREATE THE MOST LIKE THE ORIGINAL MICHAEL MYERS

Sideshow sent you two of the same hands! You should have two opposite gripping hands. Same thing happened to me with my Snake Eyes figure and they sent me the correct hand right away. Great review!

I’m glad it came with the blank head because I put that on a cheap body and boom, another figure!

Awesome review, Spot I have this figure too and I think its superb. And Spot, my figure came with a right gripping hand for holding the knife and telephone.

Watched all the other Halloween films over and over but not the Rob Zombie one, only about a month ago did I see this and WOW everything about the film is spot on, the way his mind moves over to a darker place and the size of the man he becomes, Epic film so thrilled was I that I went on to buy the second film now I can only think that Rob was on drugs making / directing the second but I didn't mind the price for both was well worth the viewing of the first, for me like in the Rob Zombie films MM needed to be a big man, a scary man who if you met walking down the street you would cross over the road...

Your points are super valid, especially when you consider you're paying a premium for it. The h1 mask was also a stark white for the most part, yeah the original paint starting wearing through but not really on the forehead, more so around the neck and nose. So that skin tone at the hairline is really distracting

Man i dig that tots did a better figure body and head sculpt but sideshow's try isn't bad at all !!! Plus you get the accesories and a figure stand !!! And a far better sheet and glasses than tots. If i get one Myers Sideshow delivers for me !!! 💯🔝❤

The likeness is very well sculpted but I agree somewhat with the eyes. The sheet kinda cheapens the appearance of the figure because maybe like you say, it's just a sheet, which technically is what it's supposed to be. I dunno, it's an odd one that. Probably not a lot else they could have done. The one:12 mezco has the sheet attached to a more moulded head covering. The hands look amazing though despite the paint criticism and I love the bloodied knife and I actually think the yellowing gives it a more realistic appearance.

I watched your review before I picked up my Michael Myers by sideshow and I was very surprised to find that mine actually did come with the missing hand that was shown in the front of the box

Definitely needed to go with a thinner coverall material.. they did get the classic teardrop head shape.. add Scopes could have been more accurate along with hairline.. cover all color is great because it shows blue in the movies regardless of what it was in reality.

I love my TOTS Michael myers. I dont think the sideshow figure is that bad but there was always something that looked off. Can't wait for the accessorie pack for the TOTS figure.

Mine came with both right and left knife gripping hands. 🎃 I think they must have mistakenly placed two left hands in yours during the assembling/packing process. 🔪

Great review as always Mr spot. Sideshow definitely rushed this figure to compete with TOTS. There was definitely not enough r&d. The pumpkin looks cheap & cartoonish . And of course the receding hairline is what killed this collectible for me wanting this figure

Great review! There were a lot of negatives, but it didn't bother me, like you said it's just about personal taste. I don't think it's a terrible looking figure, but the eyes being so clearly seen bothers me. It could be the studio light, but I feel like no matter what, you shouldn't be able to see them as well as you can. The grayness of the mask also reminds me more of the H20 Stan Winston mask they used rather than the Shatner one from the original.

They didn't put it at the bottom of the pumpkin because you'd be able to see the glue mess easier in the mouth of the pumpkin

The trick or treat studios head sculpt is way better than this.

I guess what they were going for the coloring on the tip of the hands was to give it that "warmth" or "cold" look but they paint it too matted and doesn't look "natural".

In my opinion, sideshow collectibles has a far better figure…

Overall it's cool, but I agree with you on the eyes and hairline being off. I like the coverall color, because regardless of what was worn in real life, they do look blue 99% of the time on screen no matter how you look at it. They really messed up the pockets though, they got the square flap but they're supposed to be the same size and aligned. The one with the flap is much bigger, seems like they put the flap over the pocket instead of on the pocket. That's a big error IMO.

The reddish/pink on fingers and knuckles are bloodstains, not that I'm a killer or something

3:42 The nose is absolutely supposed to be a knife while the eye hole is supposed to be Michael Myers...it just got lost in translation here.

I think the discoloration in the hands is a trademark of sideshows figures. My 1/6 jason voorhees has the same discoloration on the hands.

Great review. I think I'll stick with my ToT figure. Just by the pics posted on Sideshows site, I could tell he looked a bit bulky. I look forward to your comparison video.

Man, I recieved both Michael and Leatherface today, Ghostface still stuck in shipping god knows where. I opened Michael and his base has so many scratches on it.. also Leatherface had one of his buttons fall right off as soon as I took him out of the packaging and one of his belt loops isn't stitched.. I'm really not happy :/

Great review. I really found it odd that Both TOTS and Sideshow were able to release the same scale figure for this license. Perhaps the price point gave them that distinction? I'm not sure, but it is something of a conundrum to wonder why Sideshow would go toe to toe against a new line by TOTS that is getting allot of love right now at a lower price. And to your point, the likeness is shockingly off. Now it IS better than the first one they attempted some 20 plus years ago. I'm confused why that thing even brings any money on the secondary market like it does. But compared to what is being done right now with the character in figure form (on any scale), this one really falls short on the distinctive features that attracts horror collectors. Thanks again for the great review!

This isn't a horrible looking Michael Myers figure, but it's also far from being the ideal Michael Myers figure that I was hoping for on the part of Sideshow Collectibles. For a company that's been making 1/6th scale figures for as long as they have, you expect something way better than what was presented here. There are simply way too many issues to warrant a purchase, especially considering the $235 price tag. The face is too round and too wide. The receding hairline is very jarring. The eyes are way too visible. The nose points outward too much. The mask itself doesn't have varying shades of grey. Instead, it appears to be a single shade of grey. There should be a cut at the back of the mask, which was omitted for some reason. The shoulders are too wide, which make Michael Myers appear to be a bit muscular, which shouldn't be the case, especially considering that Nick Castle is a bit on the skinny side. The fingers and knuckles are of a pinkish color, whereas the bottom parts of the hands are pale in comparison. It's really odd that Sideshow Collectibles included 2, almost identical hands that are used to grip the knife, whereas the back of the box shows Michael Myers gripping the knife with the right hand. The pumpkin's light up option isn't strong enough. Instead, a flame effect should've been utilized, which would've illuminated way better than the small light that was utilized. The font that's on the display stand should've either been outlined in either white or orange. Perhaps, the outline could've been white and the inside of the font could've been a light orange. The legs are loose, which has been an issue when it comes to Sideshow Collectibles 1/6th scale figures for a long time unfortunately. On the plus side, the figure does have some positives going for it. The hands have some really good vein work and texture work. The boiler suit looks really good and it has some nice stitch work and tailoring. I like the boots. I also like the blood splatter that was added to the bloodied knife. Speaking of which, the yellow that was added to the bloodied knife is most likely rust, but it seems out of place and it appears as if the paint was applied randomly. The tombstone is made out of resin, which is much appreciated and it has some considerable weight as a result. It has some nice speckling and weathering as well. The pumpkin has a good sculpt. For casual Michael Myers fans, this figure will probably suffice. However, for die hard fans, this figure is a bit disappointing. It isn't horrible, but it's also far from being great. Maybe, if the price point was below $200, then collectors would be a bit more forgiving. With that aside, thanks as always Spot for another great video. I really appreciate the continued hard work. Keep it up!

Man This is disappointing sideshow dropped the ball, if you are a real Myers fans you know what you can and can’t do they been doing this for so long you wouldnt think those mistakes would ever happen, almost like they said here it’s good enough! Tots 78 blew this out the water! I can’t get over the hairline and that dull fat deer in headlights mask! 🤦🏼‍♂️

The TOTS is better in my opinion but it's still not great. Yes Sideshow have been doing this for so long they should be able to make something better than this.

Not too harsh. That does not say "Michael Myers is stalking me". It says "derpy man with a sheepish grin is about to tell me a dad joke". True disappointment. Their Jason, while also not fully accurate, does make me think "Jason".

For all the hype Sideshow gets....they just don't make the best figures. Most of mine are Hot Toys or TreeZero/A, and the few Sideshow I have are all my least favorite. My Nathen Drake is a good figure, but Jim Ryan is a $500 tin can.

loose joints and insufficient hands are deal breakers for me. I was sold until I watched this video, better spend $220 elsewhere.

I dunno man I guess I'm in the minority. Not only do I think this headsculpt is really good and possibly one of the best ever, but I actually hate the TOT's sculpt. It just looks embarrassingly awful to me. I've tried to warm up to it over the years and it's just not happening. There's not a single redeeming quality of it imo. But then, I'm also a fan of the Mezco Myers head sculpt that so many people aren't a fan of, too. 🤷

Dude right! in my opinion, this figure is far superior to trick-or-treat studios and as much as I’ve been trying to get the cheaper option for money purposes and get trick-or-treat studios I just can’t bring myself to because sideshow collectibles without a doubt, has made a better Michael Myers figure so if you ever find a Michael Myers sideshow collectibles figure this one specifically that’s cheap. Please comment back to me.

Very dissapointing. That head looks totally off. Mask itself, eyes.. and that laughable nose from side, omg. I dont understant why they did it like that. I just picket up Michael from Trick or Treat Studios and that one look absolutely fantastic. Its way cheaper and incomparably more nicer version. But yeah, great review!
