After watching this I have come to the conclusion that to understand how snooker balls work you need a masters degree in snookerphysics

Pretty much or... you could get some tape, put it on the table in a straight line shoot the ball and understand the deviation based on how you hit the ball

Any game you want to play at a higher level needs you to learn quite a bit of physics.

@@PriyabrataHalder I agree.. Take Hide and Seek when i was a kid i was on an Advanced Hide and Seek level I would consider angles of light and hide in shadows and crouch down and even though people were looking directly at me, they couldn't see me ADVANCED HIDE AND SEEK mate... it did involve physics

I have been struggling this for almost 3 decades. Your videos are fantastic. I think I would learn more over a night of pints playing with you than I have learned since I was 14. In lieu of that, I will keep watching your vids. Thanks mate!
When I watch your videos I never expect how much detail you go into. Makes soo much sense. I know about putting side on but not to this extent. Very educational. Great channel.🤌🏻 Jordan From Bournemouth 🌊

Happy to help!
as i've progressed i've been struggling with this in various aspects of my shooting, much to the chagrin of my teams advice. this is the most concise explanation of the elements of spinning a cue and for this i'm deeply appreciative
These videos are part of my Saturday morning routine now... cuppa tea and watch Break from Life around 9am... keep up the good work! Can’t wait to get back in a table.. James from Sunderland.

Yeah, me too mate but with coffee 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This one summarizes all usages of side spins. Nice job!
I've been practicing this since few months ago because it's look amazing. Now I know how to hit the white ball to the right point to another ball. Thank you so much.
My gosh the difference in cloth surface depending on where you play the shot is something!
I’m hoping to play snooker for the first time in about 25 years, just came across your channel a few days ago, not only do you explain things well you’re entertaining too. What a resource you/KZread are. My 85 year old dad is watching you too now in the hope he’ll beat me! Thank you for the videos!

How is this going for you?
FANTASTIC explanation of deflection! I've never played snooker but I have played quite a bit of American pool (9 ball, 8 ball, One Pocket, 14.1 Continuous/Straight Pool) but the idea is the same. Thank you for posting this. And for what it's worth, I'm in Dayton, Ohio, USA.
Not a snooker player, but your videos helped me become a better pool player. Thank you, from your subsriber in Semarang, Indonesia.
Clearing all my doubts about side spin. Guess it's the first video on KZread that taught that much about sides. ❤️🇮🇳
A very well done and compelling video. If the intent was to convince me of the utter hair pulling and mind numbing frustration of the game, it succeeded in spades. I would be breaking sticks, throwing balls through basement windows, and taking razor blades to the green felt. Life is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY too short for the frustration of pool.
Your content is great mate! When I learned to play snooker I was never taught but I just watched players in the snooker hall... So I learned to play with side as most players did. Fast forward and learning to play by calculating the angles it was like learning a new game lol
Such a vital lesson! You cleared so many questions I had regarding this aspect of the game! Cheers from Bangkok!
Hi from Zagreb, Croatia. Great channel, it is helping my pool game

very good to find this video. it teaches me alot.thx!
Don't get to play snooker here in the USA, but there is always alot of good fundamentals that apply to regular billiards as well. Your fan from El Paso, Tx USA.
for people struggling with this...you can look through the cue ball when using heavy side English and aim your tip at the edge of the object ball. if you pay attention to most of his strikes, his cue is aimed directly at the edge of the object ball. i found that this works exceptionally well when the object ball isn't too far away, and the shot is reasonably straight. the further the object ball, the more time the cue ball has to curve back. obviously, there's much more that goes into it but its decent starting point until you get a good feel for the deflection.
Oh si, ahora puedo disfrutar más del juego! Gracias! Saludos desde Argentina, Santa Fe.
Im from South Africa. My name is Altaaf. This is Literally the best white ball video I've seen so far thanks it helped alot.

I've loved watching your videos through lockdown, I can't wait until I can start playing again myself, I'm still a new player and could only manage around a 20 break at most, do you have any tips on what I can work on for someone thats limited with play time? Thanks! :)
Thank you!
I now understand more about the science of the game than ever. Thank You.
“Snoooookers” I love itNice man keep up the hard work
The 2nd from last one now makes so much sense, when you screw back and come off a cushion with spin. I'd have always just put bottom left instead of right 🤦♂️ great vid
Great job explaining this. (And this still ignores the exacerbation of throw as people's hands get dirty (sweaty) and make the balls sticky) ... or in places which are really humid (much lower than your latitude. I learned in the 90s, before there was ANY info except books ... and gambling to see if you played as well as you thought you did. People today just do not realize that they have as much free info as a chick with DD's in a pool hall or a short skirt ... on the internet in a way that didn't exist even 15 years ago. Just Dave Alcatore and videos like accu-stats, etc. I have some videos of Efren, Alcano, Orcollo, Pagalayan playing the ghost on my videos. And again, good job explaining.
Heeeyyy from Mar del Plata, Argentina 🇦🇷 Love your channel and how well made your videos are, I've never played snooker but it's still really interesting
I came a cross watching this video by accident and just continued while I was doing my work. I was stunned at 7:06 cuz that's where I am 😂 great video btw 👍
this guy should teach physics and dynamics on the open-lessons. felt satisfied by this video, thanks from Belarus :)
Well i have been watching the videos on spin for game improvement and it really helped me in Cue positioning.......... Thank You so much for game Knowledge ❤️ ❤️ From Pakistan
Very clever stuff!
Just discovered your channel, thanks alot for the info!
Very interesting. I always had the intuition that you could affect the object ball and have used side spin for narrow shots, sometimes to great success. But it was so slight that I thought I could just be imagining it - now that I know it's real, I realize it's a great trick that can actually becomes useful quite often.
Loved it!
