So, I don't normally share private stuff, but, here goes - I was addicted to meth and heroin for like, a hot minute... until I found this song. Exactly why I came back to this masterpiece

I have to be honest here guys. I only heard this song a few years ago during the height of the pandemic when everyone was isolating. I had just moved into my apartment and was alone for a lot of the time. A lot of my habits went out the window while I was also working from home too. I gained a bunch of weight from ordering in all the time... this is hard for me to admit now, I'm still sad about how much I would eat. And one night I listened to this song. The lyrics were enchanting and mesmerizing. I fell to my knees and cried. I cried for a long time and realized I needed to get my life back in order. Now, I'm in a much better place in life. I've lost weight and have gotten back into running. I found a new job that pays well and I've reconnected with my parents. I still come back to this song just to remind me of who I am.

growing up, my father used to play this song in the car and he’d always say “if there’s only one thing you take away from our time together, i hope it’s an appreciation for REAL music”. when he passed about 5 years ago, i was cleaning out his car and i found the disc with this track on it still in the CD player. i’ll treasure it forever. whenever i hear this song, it just takes me back to our time together.

I know they made this song for the masses, but it has that rare quality where I swear they’re speaking to me directly.

when I was 4, my parents bought me a record player & let me play a stack of 78s that they had. this was one of them. I'm 62 now & this is one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time.

I love the symbolism and incredible metaphors in the lyrics - really thought provoking

I've seen a lot of comments about how profound the lyrics are but haven't seen many comment appreciating the performance aspect of it. It must have been INSANELY hard to remember these lyrics and say them flawlessly. Nathan, you should release a behind the scenes for the making this video. I suspect many segments would have needed 50 to 100 takes.
