Omg worlds colliding!!! Christmas came early!!! the way these two Black women have been FORMATIVE in my growth and understanding of myself, what it means to be a woman in the world, the different ways women experience the world, and how the world receives or rejects us and why. Ugh. Obsessed with you both. Thank you for everything you do- it’s not lost on me!!

This episode could not be more timely, especially in the wake of recent high-profile cases of DV & SA. Patriarchy harms us all. Period. It is incumbent on us to create new frameworks and ways of being and engaging where everyone feels seen, heard, understood, and loved in the way we desire. Excellent conversation, ladies! Please make a part two!

This is such a great conversation! In terms of the question "how do women contribute to patriarchy" I would like to take it a step further. Often times we hear the saying "mothers love their sons and raise their daughters". I've heard plenty of mothers go into great detail on how their expectations and rearing are different depending on the sex of the child. A girl, especially a little Black girl, is often unprotected and raised to be a nurturer as well as self sufficient. Meanwhile, the son learns very quickly if he steps out of line, the women in his family will cover him. They will make excuses or bail him out (literally and figuratively). Fast forward, these sons grow up to be abusive and disrespectful towards women. Instead of addressing the harm he caused or the abuse he perpetrated, other women begin to victim blame. They immediately question what could you have done better as a woman to prevent a man from lashing out. If the man that caused you harm is a family member, sometimes the women in the family get mad at you for speaking out against him. Women who contribute to patriarchy are often more upset with another woman standing up and speaking out than they are angry at the man for putting innocent women in danger. All of these behaviors teach men they will not be held accountable for their actions and they will be supported even in their wrongdoings. Thus the cycle of abuse and patriachy continue.

I love this. Women need to love themselves first. It's okay to be selfish and have standards. If anyone judges you, it says a lot about them and not you.

Amanda, Princella Clark The Queen maker is what they call her, is an intellectual and also has interesting takes on patriarchy, men and female and male dynamics. She uses a lot of scientific data to back up her theories. She's a bit controversial but interesting nevertheless. I would love to hear your thoughts on her philosophies. Great Show tonight.

There’s a part of patriarchy that is so abusive and devoid of love, that you need to separate yourself from the men and women that are blind to it’s abuses, to experience love again.

Matriarch is just as bad in the blk community always pushing blk men under the bus with lies that can be proven false. Having kids out of wedlock by a small percent of men same men. Abuse in the household always crying about how hard you have with never looking at the man your same color going thru it to all while majority of yall problems are self made from bad decisions. Divorce court child custody raising kids not his by the mass. 30% paternity test come back negative. Imagine of every blk man got one. Yet make up fake oppression of a patriarch that built literally everything both these ladies are using. And yes because you a girl men and women not the same. This a dumb topic getting old.
