Having integrity as a regular-degular ass human out here is difficult, so I can't imagine what it's like to stand ten toes down in an industry/business that 1) doesn't reward it and 2) is testing it ALL. THE. TIME. PHEW! 😮‍💨 Continued strength to both of u amazing ladies. This was a vibrant convo between two matching energies. Thoroughly enjoyed. ✌🏾&❤

It’s the 5555 for me The spiritual meaning of 5555 is that everything you've wished for will soon become a reality in both the material and the spiritual world. Self-discovery, self-growth, and receive plenty of spiritual guidance from the Divine. this conversation was very healing for me thanks Amanda!

Yas cancer gang ♋️ were the bomb I love your friendship with Melanie you guys are so funny and cool it such a vibe . I love Melanie she’s so talented she can really sang I am sorry that she went through that the industry is so messed up sometimes I hate the way they treat people it’s disgusting good for her for speaking out about that because not a lot of people would feel comfortable discussing the stuff that happens within the industry I am glad she exposed them . I am proud of her for standing up for herself and not tolerating that disrespect from people . Staying true to herself not letting people put her in a box . I miss her music I hope she makes more music soon .

One of the artist I’ve always felt was underrated. I’ve always respected how classy she carried herself in terms of fashion. And I’m glad to see some women haven’t sold their morals to the industry. Or watered down their craft to be more acceptable in mainstream. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Also I love seeing Amanda in interviewer mode I’m sorry I think I enjoy this more than her stand up she’s just so comfortable and intelligent. And I love how Melanie talks about being multifaceted. Society does like to put you in a box.

I love Melanie and wished her time wasn’t cut short as an artist. But i def believe her bringing up Ashanti was low key shade. Think about it… Ashanti peaked at 2002-2003. Melanie came out around 2006-2008… the RNB acts that were new & big was Keyshia Cole, Jazmin Sullivan, Keri Hilson. It’s crazy how Ashanti name keeps getting brought up the past few years in ppl stories ☹️

Am I the only one that rewound several times to learn what the rapper said to no avail? Amanda, I appreciate how you walk in your truth unapologetically. This was a great display of an earnest conversation between two grown women speaking and vibing as such. It almost felt like I was listening in on a personal chilling at the house come on by and grab a glass of wine conversation. Thank you for the visuals and for your voice.

Thank you for this topic/podcast Amanda 💗. I appreciated this topic and Melanie’s story so much! Navigating the music industry can be so tough and I’m glad she stuck with her integrity, gut, and morals. I’m happy to hear another story of how the love for and talent of music doesn’t mean you have to sell your a** or ya soul to thrive. Y’all are beautiful examples of how you can just be and do you in doing what you love to do. Her story is so encouraging and beautiful 🫶🏾. And she was right, in 2007- I would say still today the big industry wasn’t looking for or signing blk women who can sang (this was similar to my experience as well), I remember a lot of promoting of ppl of a shade that “traditionally” ppl wouldn’t expect could sang. Hoping this will change soon however ppl like you and Melanie have shown finding your own success creatively can still be done 🤸🏾‍♀️👌🏾✨
