What a sweet way to side dress corn.. Last time I did it I had to pull a rope at the end to shut off the anhydrous lol...
I can remember side dressing corn with a AC 185 and 6 row cultivator...times have changed.
Awesome camera shot of tractor driving over camera
I really like the interesting places you find to stick a camera. Some really neat action footage from both ground and air.
Good seeing ya Reese. We're all done planting. Tmrw, getting both anhydrous bars ready and maybe start to get combines ready for wheat/oats harvest coming soon. See ya next week👍😁
No trouble spotting this beefy shanks from the drone footage, but that is one sweeet outfit to side dress with
My favorite part of Sunday,watching an ivers video,I would love to sit down and have a beer with Jay he seems really cool

From the air you can really see the difference in the knives. The only downside I can see it might lead to drying out of the soil a little quicker.
Good luck side dressing Reese
Great video Reese and Bossman
Another great video! Enjoyed the camera shot to start the video! I’ve always been impressed with everyone’s mechanical skills around the farm. You mentioned David's a strong mechanic, did he go to mechanic school?

No, George is the only one that went to school for it
Nice side dress rig!!

"Wobbly pop" lol
nice video !
Hey had a question about that applicator. We’re going to a 60’ as well and like the idea of going down the planter tracks then your not packing new ground when you sidedress. The outside coulters you said were half rate, how’d you set it up for half rate?
Wondering if you move those new beefy knife's were your tracks are break up soil compaction ?

When your side dressing looks like there's maybe four or six knives it looks like they're going deeper than the other ones

Do you think that side dress rig needs a firmer or closing wheel? Just something close the trench or pack disturbed soil.

The quad but it’s also much more expensive
You should put the nylon plates on all your 5th wheels and no more grease

Does the side dresser do any damage where the middle rows meet the end rows? We don't do this in England
@iversfarms
3 жыл бұрын
Yes you run over a little turning. That’s why we do it small so most of it will bounce back We feel the benefits outweigh the drawbacks
When u were side dressing the end row by the river, it appeared the auto shutoff for overlap planting had some issues?

You are driving over the rows of corn. I know it probably doesn't hurt the corn to much, but it certainly doesn't do it any good. Then the wheels on the applicator run on the corn rows too.

Have you all considered Y-drops

Yeah we tested against some with a neighbor a few years ago and showed the coulter yielding better on that test. Unverferth has a double coulter that I think would be the best but that’s a lot of parts
You can destroy your Corn with Tyre?
@tf7274
6 ай бұрын
Side dress and 4 applications of chemical...you may run some over...but down the middle of a huge field more than offsets the damage on the end rows.
