Side By Side Real Data Comparison Ebay End & Relist vs. End & Sell Similar Many Problems With One

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I have 2 ebay stores and completed end and relist on one and end and sell similar on the other. One method has too many problems and I'll never do it again.

My son is home from college and no one will hire him (he's a good kid, hard worker) and I sat him down to your 5 Minute "All About Postcard" video. He's watched it four times. I've given him all my postcards to list. What he sells, he keeps.

@@PopeyesPostcards These are his first ebay listings, made me proud. Finally, 20 years later lol. He really likes the notes on the backs of the posted one's. The only trouble he's ran into in what is a RPPC and what is not because there is some glossy B&W that look like RPPC.

I agree John. I once accidently deleted 35 listings and to this day (4 1/2 years later) I don't know for sure if I ever recovered all of them back. Once you have deleted items off eBay, they are GONE forever and there is no way to retrieve them. Thanks for the comparison video. I'm going to start listing my postcards end and relist as fixed price rather than end item and sell similar.

Excellent comparison!! So the take-home message is that if you are relying on organic traffic for your store, you need to be doing end and sell similar, but if you are using promoted listings, you're better off doing relist. Thanks so much for this useful experiment! I'm sure this will be really helpful to many people. :)

When I sell similar I put the ended in drafts first then delete. If I did my whole store all would be in drafts. I then list from drafts. This way any items with problems stay in the drafts. Also, sell similar items get a "new" tag and pushed to top of listings.

I did only relisting for a few weeks and my sales decreased. When relisting, it takes all the former information with it. Now that I am back to Schedule then my sales seem to return. It is considered a new listing to Ebay..supposedly. You are right though, you have to pay attention or you get mixed up and could delete some. There is a way in Advanced section to find the deleted ones but it is chore to get them back. Ask my daughter Dawn W. more about that.

Thank you for sharing. End and Sell Similar is definitely harder to do. I have 1,700 items in one of my 2 eBay stores and deleted 20 by accident when doing that end/sell similar before. I usually do this by bin (my bins contain about 20-40 items) so that I can review/update and reorganize. So all of the items gone forever from eBay were in one bin which made it easier to recover from :) Cheers, Julien

An outstanding address of the topic and I appreciate the work you did to present the material to us. I'm a regular end/sell similar practitioner - having heard (but never from the authoritative "white paper") that end/relist doesnt accomplish the same level of store re-jigger. I was surprised to see your large store's leap in impressions after the end/relist process application. I may start doing my own testing. And speaking of, i also have two stores and never has it occured to me to sell an item between stores to test an idea or answer a listing question. Fantastic video. Thanks!

Thank you for this video. When I do end and sell similar, or end and relist, I mark that batch up $.50 or down $.50 so that the algorithm sees I made a change in the listing. Just in case.

I end and sell similar but have never had an issue, but I end 200 sell similar 200 delete 200, then rinse and repeat. But I will do a few rounds of that every week so you don't get that fatigue of doing all of them and make mistakes. Again do what works best for you.

When I do end and sell similar I sort my unsolds by most recent first. I end 200 at a time and then sell similar the most recent 200. I don’t have to delete anything until I’m all done. I let the unsolds pile up. It’s how I track how many I’ve done since I can just look at the total and I refresh my overview screen to make sure the number hasn’t changed after each batch of 200.

@@PopeyesPostcards I accidentally deleted 200 over a year ago. After that I switched to sorting unsolds by most recent and not deleting anything while I do end and sell similar. I do lose 1 or 2 occasionally. I’m going to try your method next time of end and relist and see if there’s any change to my sales pattern

Thank you for doing this! We have been doing end and sell similar at 2000 items per day and we ALWAYS get some duplicate listings and yes we have accidentally deleted 200 items and had to initiate damage control. As to the drop in promoted statistics: I feel that end and sell similar totally resets the item and the promoted aspect has to re-compile to catch up with the statistics.

Hi John, I end and sell similar daily, so each day I usually have under 200 to do in any given day. You are right that it is a nail biter to make sure you do not lose any items in the process. I always note my active listings count before and after the end/sell similar. Then once I'm done I go delete the ended...

I do end/sell similar but I have a way more efficient way of doing it. I too have the ADHD so I had to figure out a way to do it without double listing/losing listings etc. Stop in the show and ask me how I do it and I will do a super quick and easy demo. It probably isnt as fast as end/relist but it is way faster than going back into your ended/unsolds

That 95% of Sixbit you don't use might be helpful now. Click file at the top and then refresh all Ebay Auxiliary data. After it's done, click on the "View" Tab next to the Repository Tab and it will show "possible oversells" and also "Items not relisted eligible to relist" That might give you at least a list of listings to look at. I stopped doing the End Relist long ago for the same reason. Thanks for the videos. Pixie

I was doing end and sell similar and found out that EBay has some glitch. I was refunded $300 for my store membership for all the months it was glitching. The rep said it’s an ongoing issue that eBay is trying to get fixed and she told me not to end and sell similar until it’s fixed. Idk…
