निनाद बेडेकर यांच्या मते पावन खिंड येथे लढाई झालीच नाही, जी झाली विशाळ गडाच्या पायथ्याशी झाली. विशाळ गडाच्या पायथ्याशी जी छोटी खिंड आहे तिथे ही लढाई झाली, पावन खिंड वगेरे असा कोणता प्रकार नाही.
