Okay that “Well that’s a lot to unpack.” is such a relatable and real response. Our medical system is so broken. “What’s the difference between God and a doctor? God doesn’t think he is a doctor.” “What do they call the person that graduates last in their class from med school? Doctor.”

Pause it. Rewind it. Do what you want. You're doing a reaction not a "Let's watch", it's perfectly fine to stop to comment and rewind to re-listen. I've watched MANY reactions to Ren and not pausing/rewinding is incredibly rare so don't worry about it.

Great as always Tanya. Just as you know, The tale of Jenny and Screech is actually 3 songs ending with "Violet's Tale". If you chose the video named "The Tale of Jenny & Screech (Full)" you got them all packed in correct order in one video. Every singel song is made live in one take where Rens storytelling is at full display. If you take pauses during a song for a little talk I suggest you go back a little before restart the video just for not missing anything. I'm locking forward to it. Take care❤❤

My favourite Ren song is Crutch.. with Bibi. He wrote it about 6 years ago (before he had the Lyme's diagnosis and treatment) he'd been in and out of hospital, he had a breakdown and he wrote the song about his fear his illness would push everyone away. Make him unlovable. Ren wrote and performed but he also plays the music (piano) and I find it hauntingly beautiful. Very different from his other stuff and yet still very Ren.

"Depression" and "insomnia" are definitely ones that resonate. I think they might be right up your alley. *Raises hands* i have numerous chronic illnesses and mental health issues. They hut hard and in a melancholy way, it's nice to know you're not alone. He's massively talented and the amount of awareness he's bringing through his music is making waves. And I'm so thankful. I actually paused the video to comment because you hit on something that I consider important as a 3x survivor myself. I wish you would not apologize for taking time to compose yourself before starting the video. If you are watching any Re content, you realize the sensitive nature of some of his material, and given your condition, want to make sure you are in the right place to receive the message. If it takes you an extra minute, take it, unapologetically. I only say this because I do this all the time, and it makes me feel self conscious. However, there is never a time that we should feel self conscious about these situations (easier said than done!). I think you are seriously brave for putting yourself in such a vulnerable position in the name of helping others. Sending my love, be strong, and stay with Red and others like him who have a platform to bring some of these serious issues to life. From personal experience this video is frighteningly accurate. Bravo to you and Bravo to Ren.

Thanks for the reaction, my wife has a chronic illness, and its not a good life, but it is a life. The medical profession is so impersonal and the professionals that do try to dive deeper in to individuals, tend to not have the time, it has come down to coping, reacting and adapting. Relying on anybody will ultimately result in resentment, chronic illness is a shit card to be dealt, but thinking the system will somehow offer a ray of hope, maybe a stretch, the resources for individual care are not there. This is a good song and hits home on so many levels..but it does describe hopelessness very well, and thats why its important to not let negative energy suck you dry, because you will need that to cope, to react and adapt. I'm not the ill one, but merely a spectator in watching 2 lives not living to the potential in their dreams.

Yeah, I've been on the "doctors refusing to diagnose/treat your actual problem" train too.... When I was 15, I started having a very physical medical problem, and every doctor I saw just said "Oh, that's normal for a certain percentage of the population", which was a) complete bullshit, and b) completely ignoring the fact that I did not want to LIVE if I was going to be stuck with it regardless of how "normal" it was. So at one point, I got mad. The doctor gave me "anti-depressants" to deal with my anger. They knocked me out. I looked them up. They weren't anti-depressants. They were tranquilizers. That doctor LIED to me, and prescribed tranquilizers to a 16-year-old because I got mad and threw my BLOODY (literally) clothing to the floor. Luckily, that illness wasn't nearly as serious as Lyme disease. After three years, I finally went to my mother's doctor, who had treated HER for the same symptoms, so knew our family history, and he FIXED it.

Hi from the UK 🇬🇧 😊. Yeah I have been unwell for a few years now at times being bed ridden with extreme pain. The Dr's said that same thing that it's all in my head and I'm imagining my illness. So, yes I'm with you on that one. My heart rate keeps going over 200 for upto an hour at a time and is a result of anxiety. I truly hope you have received the help you need to live without the pain and anxiety

  • @TachyTanya

    @TachyTanya

    Жыл бұрын

HI! So sorry for the delayed response. I'm so sorry you haven't been well. Are they saying your increased heart rate is due to anxiety? Even so, that high seems a little excessive. I admitted to being anxious while talking to my dr about my health issues (I could feel my heart rate increasing) and that was actually how I received my inappropriate sinus tachycardia diagnosis. But it took me requesting (nearly demanding sadly) a separate test for that to get noticed. Seems to be a little bit of a tennis match situation with drs at times - more me requesting they test for things because I feel like they are missing stuff. They likely think I'm a hypochondriac, but the fact that I've caught two things they kept missing now is proof that they just didn't try/look hard enough. Sometimes you need to be your own advocate, even if they think you're crazy. Sending you much love and hugs. I hope you are able to find drs that will listen and take the time to help you as well. ❤ Don't stop fighting for the care you deserve.

@tachytanya hi , thank you so much for your reply. Amazing for you to send such an extensive letter. I found it completely humbling. I have been rushed to hospital by what is called blue lighting, sirens etc. I had a heart rate over 230 for over 1 hour and fluctuating blood pressure, dangerously so. Luckily all ended well, and what they said I was having to do is , believe it or not " take gastric ok aspirin and avoid exercise " . My life is so difficult at the moment and I'm just trying a new treatment plan for my symptoms and I'm quite hopeful. I will happily let you know when it works and I once again thank you for your reaction to my story and I hope everyone around you are blessed in every way 💖 Thank you my Love for the love you are spreading through your platform ❤️. I know I'm super delayed on my response, but I think the universe has a funny way of doing things sometimes - I was working in my studio today and was thinking to myself that I should re-react to some of the songs - Dig a little deeper into the lyrics, etc. Then after I finished up some stuff, I thought "Yikes... I'm way behind on checking/responding to comments...." 😅 And then this comment happens to be one I'm replying to today. Thanks universe and thank YOU for the awesome suggestion! I need to get into a good rhythm/consistent schedule of some sort. It's hard when every day is different health/energy wise and when they are still tinkering with medications.

Great reaction again! I also have arythmia and tachicardia. I had many health problems and getting worst. I was dying 5 years ago. Doctors are not interested to find the cause of my problems. They just want to sell drugs. I was taking 12 medicines. It took me 2 years to find a way out. I went on a Keto diet in 2020 for a few months. I got much better but I had to go on the carnivore diet to shave up 30 years of aging and get back to how I was when I was 35 years old. I only take one medicine now at the lowest dose. I want to get off this last medicine but I have to fight with my cardiologist. People are more and more sick. Ren and you are on the right track. We have to talk about the problems we have, including the social and health care system. It is not working properly. LOVE!

As someone who has had similar experiences I totally relate. Doctors just don't give enough time to their patients. They just want to get in and get out. I realise a lot of that is not their choice. Because of the clinics they work for and insurance companies what to keep the time spent with the doctor down. That is why I prefer independent and more holistically minded doctors they are much more likely to take the time to listen to you.

These few tracks you reacted to (up to illest of our time) were among the last he recorded before Rens trip to Canada for treatment. There are more, but I'm not sure he anticipated his trip to be so long. Before his incredible success, they are like a howl of frustration. Not just empty rage, they are deeply personal and are tempered with his trademark social commentary. Hopefully there are more tracks waiting for inclusion on a new album. I did read somewhere they intentionally turned down the doctor's 'misdiagnosis dialogue' in the audio mix to add to her air of apathetic disinterest and mostly irrelevant appraisals. Nice reaction Tanya ❤

Me myself have luckily enough not been in that situation (yet), but the feeling of not being listened to and being misunderstood is probably universal. Regarding the "sound issues": Please adjust the volume to a level that is comfortable for you. You need to be able to enjoy the music. I personally found the sound on the Hi Ren reaction to be good and balanced, although overall maybe a little bit low in volume. On the later ones though the music has been a little bit too loud and this one even distorting.

I understand. I had a doctor that had the same thyroid issue as me, so every time I brought something up (tired, fuzzy thinking, a host of other issues) and she always said it was just the thyroid. Eventually I told her to run a testosterone test, if only to get me to shit up. Turns out I was correct, had nothing to do with my thyroid, instead I was barely producing testosterone (due to a side effect of a long term med). Fast forward a decade and the testosterone was making my blood too thick, so I got a to experience a lovely stroke. *sigh* The human body is so durable, yet incredibly fragile. "Sick Boi, Sick Boi, bitten by a tick boy....." ---- Ren's VERY personal critique of the woefully inadequate mental health system.....the therapist just speaks "psycho babel", not really helpful at all ( ......."your mind is making you sick "..... NOT true in Ren's case) and is why the beat overcomes her meaningless words ----- the Pig from 'Hi Ren' reappears -- it is a butcher.......I believe it represents Ren's opinion of many doctors and therapists.......I feel that the media pushback against Ren's music is "sponsored" by supporters ( lobbyists ) of the big $$$$ mental health systems and Big Pharma......

My depression and anxiety was fuelled the other way round. I was told by specialist, I wasn't going to recover from a mild traumatic brain injury. I was left for a further 3 years waiting to settle a personal injury claim, thinking I was knackered. a few weeks before we settled, she informed me I would be fine after the claim settled. She was right, most of my sympoms disappeared after the case ended. But it was too late to save my 15 yr relationship, I lost everything. She was an 'Expert Witness' so there is no legal redress. they can say anything and are untouchable.

Have no fear...Pedant-Man is here! There is a common misconception about positive and negative feedback loops. We tend to think of "positive" as "good" and "negative" as "bad", but that leads us astray in this case. A negative feedback loop is actually a good, useful, and stable thing. Its job is to keep things as they are. They are critical for maintaining homeostasis in your body. Think of a thermostat: if it gets colder than you like, the heat kicks in, if it gets too hot then the AC turns on. Stable, and stability is good. A positive feedback loop is inherently out of control. Whenever you hear the phrase "spirals out of control", that is a positive feedback loop. In the above analogy it would be a thermostat that was wired exactly backwards. If it got too hot, it would turn on the furnace, which would make it hotter which would turn up the furnace, etc. There are very few examples of natural feedback loops because they teand to be short-lived coz they make themselves go ka-blooey. A atomic bomb is an example of a positive feedback loop. Don't even get me started about the whole positive-negative reinforcement-punishment behavioural models... ;P

Hey, have you caught wind of how CNN used "Hi Ren" in a slanderous way? You should react to Ren's "I love CNN" 🙏. What are your thoughts? Btw, I know you are having some health issues as of late so I really hope you listen and react to Ren's "Humble" - a) because it's an awesome song (obviously) and b) if you arr having a challenging time/day you know first hand of its positivity and it might give you a burst of emotional sunshine that you are in need of. Also, it would be a great follow-up to something ultra sombe or serious like "The tale of Jenny and screech (Full version)" or Dominos

My health has been up and downish. They increased my one heart medication and my high rates have been better, but my lows are going too low again (same issue with the prior medication and why they were considering the pacemaker). I am definitely WAY behind with content creation 😅 I saw CNN was taking Hi Ren out of context and saying Ren was glorifying/romanticizing suicide. Just silly. I would hope anyone seeing the news would actually listen to the song and see that it was exactly that - taken out of context and incorrect of CNN to say. I appreciate the suggestions! I am hoping to get on some sort of consistent content creation schedule soon!
